I see it shows a red plane. AFAIK the red planes are not live for that very reason.

A lot of our customers tell FR not to show any flight info at all

The plane you selected and am viewing is red.  Don't see a security risk at the moment.  There is currently so much crap going on in SA, taking down the head of state is not really gonna change much

Yeah you are correct, my apologies. But there are some flights/aircraft/airlines that don't have their data live. Some of the american airlines are like that.

I was very surprised to pick it up. I just saw a "large" aircraft icon over Pretoria where there's usually nothing.

 

They always show up red when I click to track them, whatever their type.

 

Update: I'm still picking it up, parked at Lyttleton(?).

At the time I was working nearby to the airport near the end of the runway, and we all went onto the roof to watch the take off... same story for every other building close by thousands of people

So it is that time of the year where my wife asked me what I wanted for my birthday.  Quite a few years ago my wife bought me a cast iron model of an Swiss A340 which parks here in front of my computer and looks pretty nice.  So I got the idea of maybe collecting a few of these nice looking models, concentrating on the aircraft and hopefully the airline of the aircraft I have flown in before at some point in time.  So she bought me this weekend a model of the Lufthansa A380.  This specific model was pretty pricey but bloody good detail (manufactured by Gemini Jets).  I noticed that althoug the Swiss is good looking model, the new Lufthansa is leaps better wrt to detail.  This brings me to my question to you.  Are there any of you out there that have some of these cast iron models and what brands would you recommend to look at?
