This week one of the greatest guitarists I have ever seen passed away. He was a most excellent guitarist and general musician. Sad thing is that brilliance is no guarantee of success and well he probably preferred it that way.

Certainly one of ZAs absolute great guitarists. Preferred his playing and passion to any other.

RIP Peter Pulvenis.

Quick question to the aficionados.

Have anyone of you used or know of a program to download Spotify playlists to mp3? I'm not keen on buying dozens of albums or individual songs and would love to download my own playlists to stick on my running earphones.

Do you not have mobile Internet coverage where you run? Streaming would be the easiest option.

I do that with Apple music.

I could, but I despise running with my phone. I never stray far from home, so don't really need it and record my runs with my Garmin.

For a while I used AllToMp3, but it's performance was flaky at best and it would drop random mp3 ad files into the downloads, so I'm a bit wary of it now.

Oh I see. Hmmm...

Would this help:

Options to convert online.

I've not tried myself but they seem pretty straightforward.

I saw KISS last week. Hellova show. Not brilliant musos by any stretch ( although Eric an Tommy are good) but brilliant entertainers. Gene is the consummate entertainer. I loved the show.

The audience had a party. All ages. That’s what entertainment is about.

I have always been fascinated by rock stars and bands ever since hearing Page/Plant on led zep 2 as a very impressionable 11 year old. A mate of mines older brother one day had it on the turntable and I was drawn to the sound as if by magic. And so started my fascination with the heavier side of music, a habit I have to this day going so far as to pick up the guitar and play gigs etc. I found refuge and meaning in heavy metal I found nowhere else but I digress.

Over the years I have read many autobiographies and books about rockstars/bands from back in the day. Ace Frehely, Lemmy, Jimi, led zep, Sabbath, Tony iommi, Ozzy, Bruce Dickinson ( an amazing human being) etc etc etc an watched movies whenever they came out, I.e. the Dirt.

Currently reading Running with the devil written by the manager of Van Halen from 1978 to 1985. What whirlwind days and ultimate debauchery was the way of most rock stars. Most of these books tend to dwell on the how many drugs I took, how many bottles of Hennessy I could drink, an make no mistake this book chronicles that but lots of interesting info about the music business etc. a good read.
