So i'm converting a friend to riding and I know that old models are a great idea for first time buyers.

Are there any shops in Gauteng clearing out old stock at good prices?

650b or 29" in a medium.

Go and see Conrad of Eagle Canyon Cycles.

He will take good care of you.

Nah, they are friendly enough but not the most knowledgeable.

Would rather cruise the Hub classifieds for sweet deals. But first figure out what sort of riding will be done

New old stock can be great i bought a 2015 Scott spark 700 contessa for my wife last year for R11500 brand new with warranty granted the bike I was after they sold after phoning in advance and asking if it was still there and that they would keep it cause I was more than a hours drive away so they had to make it up.????????????

I tend to breath at full stops, like when I speak. I read slowly due to my verry deliciously englisch, I nearly feinted!

Did you also get your heart rate up by reading that in one breath?

I agree with the posts about looking for good prices at Solomons on old stock, I got my Titan (gasp, the horror!) there for an absolute bargain!

sorry guys didn't know this is a teachers convention. Just the thought of a new bike gets me excited and carried away. Promise to put breathing spaces in next time. O ja and I mostly use English for self defense so excuse the boertjie.????????????

Breathing is important, no matter what language you speak!

'I mostly use English for self defence'..... this is classic!

Thanks all.

Secondhand isn't an option on this one. If it was for myself I would gladly go for that option since I know what to look for and what to do if something goes south.

First experiences on a bike should be a good one. Brand new will more likely give that.

Will check out the recommended options
