I have been looking for the same, but for different reasons.

Also looking for a intro level (read "cheap") GPS bike computer.

Purely to log distances covered.  Dont need a HR monitor or any other fancy stuff ....

May even be a benefit if the screen could be OFF when in use .... I want Maritz's eys on the TRAIL, not on his handle bars.

Might be the GPS watch already on your arm

dont actually wear a watch ...  :whistling:

but that may be a good idea, to get a GPS watch for Maritx.  Will do some homework on what these cost now ...

I was thinking of the Wahoo Elemnt Bolt (bundle with HR & Cadence & Speed sensors). Then I read somewhere that the Wahoo sensors do not fit well on through axles..

Now I see Wahoo just released the Elemnt Roam.  Nice big (with some colour screen), but not in a bundle.  I'm currently using my Apple Watch  Series4.  Nice enough, but ..

Can the Bryton link with a power tap? Anyhow, the Brytons are cheaper than the Garmin's (with good reason  :whistling:)

Bryton can link with PM and anything with ANT+...

Lezyne

+1

I invested in the Lezyne Super GPS (limited edition blue) and paid R2000 for mine.

Can literally do anything just as the fancier GPS models out there.

• ANT+ & Bluetooth

• Electronic Shifting Support

• Shows your battery life of your devices (e.g, power meter, phone, HRM)

• Very long battery life (I charge mine 2-3 times a month)

• Live Segments

• Navigation turn-by-turn via the Lezyne App

• Up to eight data fields

• Left/Right Smoothness & Torque Effectiveness

Honestly, what more do you need?

I am very happy with mine.

How much?

"paid R2000"

A good option I'd say if that is still the price.

Now if someone can just point us in the right direction.?

EDIT ... scrap that idea .... returned for refund ....

R 1 200 for the Giant NEOS GPS unit.  Even does hart rate and cadence, sensors not included.

For power meter and navigation the price climbs drastically ....
