MODS, threadmerge with the cricket thread?

so predictable*!

we got totally outplayed.

but i'm not that worried, a lot of our wickets were very soft and when you get something like that Stokes catch you just know it's not your day.

*the public response. bunch of fickle dandelions.

Talk about a spectacularly bad start... Pakistan All Out for 105 in 21.4 Overs against Windies...

Here is Brendon McCullum's prediction for the World Cup. Makes for interesting reading.fa9149da7f22c69b907bbcc6d5577146.jpg

4 way tie for the final semi slot then??

he's got the first 2 right, but i don't see that happening,

big calls -

WI beating Aus

pak beating Aus

Aus beating Eng

Eng beating Ind

NZ beating SA

Agreed re England and India. However I do agree with Baz regarding Australia and New Zealand being the other semi finalists. Both have decent squads with a bowling unit capable of performing well in English conditions.

Not so sure if the games will go as he predicted but there is signs from the Windies that they are going to be tough team to play against. Also if you get in the Aussies faces and match them for skill they can crumble and I strongly suspect that Baz believes that the Aussies will get caught off guard as they wouldn't be expecting the Windies to do so. The rest of the games are 50/50 calls imho and it will be fun to see how many of those he gets right.

And also he is calling the WI v SL game a win for both teams. So WI could end up with 4 wins rather than 5. But again it will interesting to see how many of those he gets right.

Funny ole game. I thought 312 was on.

ZA bowlers pulled it back fairly well I thought. Batsmen did not deliver.

Early days but it’s likely rain will affect games so a win today goes a long way

That's been our only consistency over the last few months.

When I saw the target, I knew they were gonna loose.

Faf said in the post-match interview that their score was par. So he had faith they could attain it. Just a pity QdK played a shot he's been known to lose his wicket to, and Hash's form is neither here nor there.

I sincerely hope we pull up our socks for the next game.

-Thought JP dismissal was a pi$$ poor shot. Catching practice.

-Pretorius run out was very unnecessary

-that catch of stokes was ridiculous.

we couldnt handle pace of Archer

NZ has consistently been getting the better of SA in WCs, so that I would agree to be a good call.

I could understand it when we couldn't handle spin bowling, but we are supposed to have the best pace attack, why aren't our batsmen accustomed to coping against pace?!

Always interesting to see the faithful SA supporters turn on their team at the earliest possibility.

Home summer the ODI record was 11-2.

Add in a 2-1 win in Australia.
