Ya, that sucks @ss from them for not bringing out an Android version, they literally started the process a few years back, I even had the app on my phone then the development just stalled and they do not have any plans to re-start the development anytime soon

No Android sufferfest. But it's on the list thanks. At this rate I won't have to pay for a subscription for a looooong time. Hehe.

RGT which is on your list is currently free, so wont have to pay anyway and has limited routes, some real world, some cyber world, I use it when I want to free ride which is not very often.  Currently I am using Virtugo for the structured training plans and workouts.  Think it is the cheapest subscription of the paid apps at the moment.

Zwift also doesn't work on my device. and neither does RGT or Fulgaz. Fulgaz is apparently developing an Android app so we wait.

I think the problem with Android is that it's a bit of a loose dev environment. Add to that multiple devices and communication protocols and it becomes a bit of a minefield. Whereas Apple for example is far more tightly managed.

Not sure if this will help....

When I tried Zwift for the first time on my old iPad it also would not work with my IDT which is an old cyclops powerbeam without bluetooth (only ant+)

I then bought a 4iiiiii heart rate strap which with some black magic that I don’t quite understand ???? now allows my ant+ dongle to talk Zwift.....

Maybe it also talks android??

So just an update. Bkool installed on my android device but most of the functions seem to have gone walkabout. Also it refused to synch with my trainer and HRM.

So I guess it's on to the laptop we go. I'm taking this week off from any virtual biking activity tho coz I'm feeling very fatigued. Next week I'll jump on the Bkool app for my freebie month and see.

Ok last update.

I've been watching Youtube vids by a trainer named Dylan Johnson and he's not that keen on Zwift. His main complaint seems to be that the workouts are too complicated and a little all over the place. I can't really comment on that but the main purpose of these programs IMO is to keep you from blowing your brains out whilst riding indoors right? And if Zwift does that and keeps people motivated to train then GREAT!

I tried to install Zwift on my laptop over the weekend and it was an exercise in frustration. Firstly it took forever and then there seemed to be a problem with my firewall and Zwift.

So I thought screw that and whipped out my cc and subscribed to Rouvy. I love travelling with my bike and being able to "ride" routes like the Tourmalet and Sa Calobra keep me motivated to come back for more. Last night I "rode" Peyresourde. Apart from being a good workout it helped me decide that we will definitely NOT be riding the Peyresourde when we go to the Pyrenees for real in June.

Things I like about Rouvy.

1. Real Routes

2. A premium membership lets my other half also have a login

3. It updates what it thinks your ftp is based on your activities

4. it works on my Android device so no mess no fuss and way less admin

Oh one last thing. Fan!!!

Those that have logged in and tried it would have gotten the email.

Newbies, move on to try the next one ....
