And there’s a dispute up front

And they slow down

Interviews after to reveal it all afterwards ⚠️

Be sure to listen to The Cycling Podcast episode for today, gonna be some big discussions.

Movistar was too opertunistic...

Let's see where it splits now that they have gotten back together and it restarts.

Apparently Omar Fraile was flaming (or informing) the Movistar train and Valverde called off his team from continuing to gain an advantage

Lopez, his teammate, was caught up in the crash

Joh! What drama. Good on the comm for allowing the riders who crashed to come back, Movistar manager Arrieta not happy about that call, though.

Lots of riders blasting Movistar for trying to benefit from the crash.

Lopez: "These really stupid actions are what the world champion's team does, that's what we're dealing with. What a world champion we have!"

Pure class by Primoz. ValverdeDoper never deserved the rainbow bands, him and his team are a disgrace to cycling.

Hmm not sure that Valverde never deserved them, he is old school (read that how you like) and has served his apprenticeship doing the journeyman's mileage to be where he is now.

Talking on the Cycling Podcast Willie Smit said he's trying to settle a contract with NTT / TDD for next year and has an offer for a pro conti team on the table which includes a start in next years Vuelta.

Just the fact that he has been bust before grinds me.

It's not so much that he was busted. Many people have been busted but it's the complete lack of acknowledgement that he doped, no information around those who enabled / helped, lack of repentance and annoyance about being asked about it but be lauded as a great guy. There is one way of looking at it that he doesn't owe anyone anything as he's been sanctioned as per the rules and his time is served. Unfortunately being the best performing 39 year old will have alot of questions asked. I know the ban has probably allowed his career to last longer and created even more of a burning desire but when he has his history and the facts are extra ordinary then questions will (and should) be asked.

The firestorm around Team Sky and their use of TUE's legally (though morally ambitious depending how you look at it) shows it's often different different horses for different courses.

One thing is for sure Valverde is a master racer. His tactics and ability to read a race are exceptional combined with a really mindset to win. You can't buy that over the internet and it's something to watch.

I'll be glad once he's out of the rainbow jersey, I think it leave a bit of a stain across those hoops. I want the part of cycling out of the peloton (even if it lingers in the back room staff and owners).
