HdB Posted October 1, 2019 Share Ouch! 5:35am... Pretty sure that is the earliest race start I've ever had by far.Weather watching starts now
Wannabe Posted October 1, 2019 Share 07h33 start for me. Not bad, considering the shocker of a CTCT I had. Now if I can squeeze in under 03:30, I will be happy. Bateleur1

Also DL - 7:33aiming for 3:15 or better. This is my come back race after 2 years, so its going to hurt. Wannabe and HdB

I last did the 'Shova in 2006, so looking forward to this one. Best of luck with your comeback race, could not have picked a better race to do it in. Jehosefat Posted October 1, 2019 Share 7:20 for me. Might drop back a batch (or two) depending on how my legs feel since I'm cycling almost 600km from Joburg to the start. Hoping for 3 hours after a 3:10 into the howling wind last year (but again leg dependent because I drove down last year). BMXER Posted October 1, 2019 Share Hopefully the wind is better than last year yoh!I have done the Shova 16 times. There is ALWAYS a wind. Mostly head, can't recall been blessed with a tail. Just remember it's only pain and the hills are mental speedbumps. The first 25km makes the race, head down and go.Sub 3 is fairly easy to do.
