Exactely! Rode the Military MTB race on Saturday for only 80 Ront - as much or even more fun for a lot less money and a lot closer to home for me!

Can't agree more!!!!!!

And I can do 3 of those for the same price as the 94.7.Big%20smile

going to be interesting to see the new ride through JHB. are the roads not full of potholes?

You will be on your new mountain bike?Ouch

You gotta be kidding me? Wear those fancy tyres on tar ! Never

Rather I will ride the Ciocc. Try and see if I can break 3 hours. That means taking a whole 35 minutes off my previous time.......Confused

Not only the 94.7, but many other races, and then the Momentum dUathlon series is a total ripoff. tHE MTB 5/30/2.5 and 10/40/5km road = R220. So ya, my races are very limited this year.

I received this on our Standard Bank Club news letter, and cut and paste it as it is from our secretary.

94.7 SEEDING  RACES<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

I have had a communication from the 94.7 race office stating that they are using the national seeding index and any race that you participate in which is over 90km?s, will be used for seeding purposes.

To go to the Argus is much more expensive in real terms of cost, if you travel down to C.T. and that would be the same for the capies doing the 94.7 I think I will do the train ride next year..cheaper.Cry

I always look at a race in R/km terms and it is scary, very very scary!!

I'm pretty sure organisers make a FAT profit out of us and so do Cycle Lab, Entrytime and the others that do online entries.

Went to the Knysna races this weekend. Got to say I was shocked on friday to learn that you had to buy a additional day CSA lisence for any ride longer than 20km for R30. I ride the mountain and 1/2 the time don't even use the road!!!! Since when has this been the norm? The guy in front told me its been like that the whole year! Yet, I havent paid zonkers so far at any races in 2008? What profit margin are the organisers looking at if pick n pay sponsored half of everything?? Why are we paying so much for our races?? Can someone guide me to the thruthful answers?
