Why would they tar around the holes? Don't they want them to get bigger?

This is their N1.   Did the whole road from Inhambane down to Xai-Xai. Came halway then cam missy Cyclone and this is the end result, some places its totally gone.  So they started from Inhambane again, came halfway then the fund dried up.  ( Due to the Salaries of certain roadbuilders or what ? Shocked )   hehe

Generally, I think Jobergs drivers are fairly friendly and courteous, sure there are the bad apples, but, well, they are everywhere.!!

Last week I was in Cape Town and driving to a client in Table View I was about to enter a traffic circle and watched in amazement as a car entered the circle and proceeded to drive, in the opposite direction (ie) against the traffic flow, not even a sorry, an apologetic wave, an embarrassed face, Nothing!!.............just turned off and went on his way.!Just another day as far a he was concerned.

I even chuckled, I just couldnt believe it.!Big%20smile

sometimes in africa, the tar is just holding the potholes together and its easier to drive next to the road... this happens for many km, esp in moz. But last time I was driving up, the world bank and china were building good roads up north..

North of Vilanculous is the worst stretch...

Abidjan in Ivory Coast is famous for its traffic jams and road block.  Roads in Uvira, Goma and Bukavu are manageable, but have not been mantained in the last 30 years.  Rwanda the roads get washed down the mountains regularly. Tunis is like Cairo.

Lyk my dis hoekom jy die ouens so skeef opvryf partykeer, daai sin vir humor van jou....   Soos dit my lyk het ek erken dat moeder natuur die pad opgeneuk het, aangesien water 'n pad optel - i know i know.

Wink )

So ontspan die boude en bevestig eerder saam met my wat se crappy situasie moz hulle in vind met hul paaie..

Man, reading all your comments I really miss SA.  Things here in Holland is just so peaceful and respectful, it just doesn't feel real.  I miss the adrenaline of dodging cars and abusing other road users and trying to close down every gap in traffic when someone puts on their indicators (using indicators is a sign of weakness right?).  You guys are so lucky...

I have had some Dutch youngsters staying over at my place in Mozambique over the years, and most say that life in "Africa" made them feel more alive. In Holland they say that life is so boring- their major problems are about which club to go to that night and intrigues about boy and girlfriends.

The roads in Mmoz are disgusting. I live 100 km's south of Xai Xai and I know exactly what the hubbers with knowledge of Moz are talking about. At least the Gorongosa road is fixed, until the heavy log truckers rip it all up again, together with the weather.
