AMS makes a good kit. Get the xxl though. Xl isn’t enough to cover everything.

Alternatively get a roll of the thick clear gorilla tape. A fraction of the cost of frame kits and you can cover it as you see fit.

gorilla tape sounds like good cheap alternative but wonder how the finish product looks.

I will check out AMC, will google it.

Thanks

Congrats on the bike man!! They look damn nice! Wrt the frame protection. I have always hated the look of it after I put it on. Maybe I should not do it myself tho but I think my bikes look beter without it.

Absolutely. I applied my own kit and it's a pain.

R840 for the kit alone is a good price.

Just as long both are pointing in the same direction.

Definately dont do the guerrilla tape. It offers no protection against stones or rocks hitting your frame.

You want something tougher.

Ams is good, nice and thick too.

Bikeshield is also nice, but not as hard as ams. Cant tell yet if they work.

Otherwise give ballistic bike armour a shout and see what Nic has available for you.

My pick would be AMS

Not sure if we are talking about the same Guerrilla tape. The one I have is really thick.

So I finally pulled the trigger!!

After a hard search,many calls/emails/whatsapps, I managed to get a Norco FS1.

Sram Nx 1 x 12

Rockshox revelation upfront

Rockshox delux in rear.

Dropper post Sram guide brakes

Now the worst part - Waiting for delivery which is next wednesday day only - out of JHB.

One more question, can I make the rear shock lockout? is it a heavy DIY or easy plug and play?

Please forget about a lockout. If you don't want to rear of the bike to move, buy a hardtail. The only place a lockout "works" is on the tar, which is the wrong place for an MTB anyway

well i do ride quite abit on tar to get our trails-however its not a gamechanger or worth extra R5k

Any efficiency you lose due to bobbing will only make you stronger in the long run [emoji28]

There will always be a bit of bobbing on a dual suss. It is not the root of all evil that some make it out to be. If the shock pressure and rebound are well setup it won't even be noticeable
