Looking at buying Sram Red. Read reviews on the web with all of the oke's having alot of negative stuff to say like the front deraileur not being able to adjust to avoid the chain rubbing against it and the rear deraileur needind adjustment alot. Would appretiate  your feedback

How big a hurry are you in to buy? 09 DuraAce and Super Record should be out in a month or 2, perhaps worth the wait

You got the red part right, but what you want to spend your money on is Campag Record with red Ergopower...

Will the new Super Record also have the stiffer shifting like the the current RED Record Ergopower shifters?

My experience

Front derailleur has not given me any major hassle.  BUT, it does take a lot of time to get the shifting JUST right.  Also does not shift that well under pressure.  Might change the front der to Force at some stage.

My rear der only needed frequent adjustment while the cables were new.  After that, no problem.

The SRAM Red grouppo is, in my opinion, YEARS ahead of what is currentlyon the market (and better looking than the new Dura-Ace and Record!)

I would suggest going for it. I currently am riding the force and it is a fantastic groupset. You will not be sorry. Value for money it is unbelievable. Sharp shifting, clever design. It is interesting to note that Campag and Shimano "copied" a few design features of SRAM (Cassette design, Hood depth etc)

Ultimately its a matter of opinion, but if you want something amazing that does a fantastic job, and happens to be different, go for SRAM

Wait for the new Shimano & Campy, read the reviews on them, go look at them in your lbs, compare to Red, then decide. IMO all 3 will be excellent gruppos, the difference in performance will be small.

I agree with you on this one! All three gruppo's are top end! and very little difference between them . Record has lots of carbon which looks sweet ! I still need to get used to the new look of the Record ergo levers , but they growing on me.

I currently ride SRAM red(race bike) and Sram Force(training bike) . I love the feel of both of them . Sram Red has the same feel as Campag ( very clicky and hard when changing) . I think its also one of those gruppo's that will soften in with extensive use. SRAM RED has a nice mixture of carbon and titanium. which IMO looks classy! Love the way "SRAM RED" Is sandblasted onto the gruppo and not painted on as some of the others.

Price!!! I think SRAM and DUR-ACE will be simmilar in price . The SUPER RECORD Will be waaaaay out of the average cyclists price range !!!

But If you can afford it ...then why not !!!!Confused
