Having a look around and seeing what options are out there and actually available. I've got a YT Jeffsy with standard DT M1900 rims @ 22.5mm internal width. They getting a bit banged up, the join line on the rear rim has a slight split which weeps sealant and I'd like to try something a bit wider round the 30mm width. Ride mostly AM style maybe Enduro.

What would other look at, that are decent, affordable and actually available?

Like the Idea of some Spanks, but they don't seem to be available in the required options, Lyne is out of stock a lot and Rapide doesn't even have just rim options available in 29"

Also been pondering over this lately. I'm however leaning more towards trail applications.

What I could find is:

- Lyne (30mm ID)

- Csix (30mm ID) - slightly heavier than the Lyne.

Following this.

Deed are PYGA's house brand wheels if I am not mistaken...

I bought a set of Hunt Trail wide 29 wheels last year, stock may also be an issue now though, I waited 2 months to get mine, once they had stock it took 5 days to ship to my door, so far I love these wheels, they seem to be really strong, and they are pretty light, lighter than any of the "local" options for a solid set of alloy wheels

They came in at a smidge under R10k

DT Swiss XM481

As far as I know its currently in stock in 32 hole, 29"

I run it on my Pyga Slakline and super happy with it

I swapped my E1900 rim to a  DT Swiss EX511 (30mm inner diameter). The ERD was perfect.

The DT Swiss XM481 is probably the nicest in-stock rim in 30mm ID available at the moment.

They sell for around R2300-2500 per rim, making them properly premium priced, but they are superb.

I see that Rapide now has their 30mm rims back in stock and is the best option by far, at their price point of R1049.

The Spank 350 is great, but stock is tricky.
Raceface ARC30 offset are awesome, but no stock.

WTB KOM Tough i29 also nice, no stock.

28H hubs really does reduce the options out there. Lyne don't have anything available in there current range though are possibly looking for a future range but 10-12 months away.

Csixx and Rapide are on my current list. Rapide having just restocked, and are on top of the list currently.

Thanks for the feedback Nick, was going to drop you a PM. DT looks good, but as you say, very pricey. Good to hear more positive things with Rapide. Would love some Spanks, but stock is the issue.

Will build the wheels myself, one of the more rewarding things you can do on a bike though a proper exercise in patience
