At times I thought he burned matches unnecessarily which could come back to bite in the latter stages. That said, he has also ridden with maturity beyond his years & experience at this level. The ending to the stage also suited him to a tee. Friday and Saturday will be very tough and I foresee similar issues on multi mountain alpine stages. I’d be very surprised if he stayed in pink come Sunday. NGM 1
