As above Ryder is not a sealant it’s watered down buffalo milk,

proper sealant as above orange is good, I still love Stans

Agree, Stans just work.  Keen to see what this Orange Seal is about though.

Help :(

I've been struggling with a new tire. Fitting was quick and simple, but ever since I got a tiny pinhole  (thorn or something) it won't seal. It just sprays the (Ryder sealant eveywhere). I've topped up with sealant - there's still enough in there, but the hole keeps re-opening -  painting the bike and myself in sealant.

What do?

The Ryder sealant's chief appeal is the fact that its easy to clean out the tyre. If you use something like a Stan's race sealant - or maybe even throw a handful of glitter or similar* into the Ryder stuff - it should seal.

I'd patch from the inside long before I plug. Plugs are to get you home, not a long term solution to anything.

True in principle but I've never bothered with 4wd tyres to replace an externally fitted plug with an internal one. And I've never had one come out or start leaking, even after many thousands of km. Maybe that won't hold true for a bicycle tyre though.

Yeah that's just the thing. The hole doesn't warrant a plug. I saw now that the sealant in this new tire (Vitorria Barzo, Tan wall) looks darker than the sealant in my older tire (and in the bottle). Maybe it reacted with the compound? So I patched the tyre, going to up with fresh sealant...

Vitorria Barzo. Say no more.
Have consistently had more issues with these tyres more than any other, really not a fan. No doubt that an inadequate sealant will compound the issue.
Best option, as mentioned already, patch the tyre inside. Give it a really good clean from residual sealant, clean lightly with acetone/thinners round the hole area and lightly buff the casing with rough sand paper. Apply glue to both the patch and tyre casing, once tacky clamp together for approx five minutes or so. I just inflate a tube with the tyre mounted, works just as well as clamping.

Haha yeah, I actually ran them Barzos for years, never had problems, unlike my Contis.... This was a first. I've got a feeling that it was some kind of factory residue inside the tire that messed with the sealant. I didn't add any soap or water to set the tire - just a good dose of CO2. I topped up two tires with the same sealant - this new one definitely had discoloring compared to my other tire with many km's on it. Anyways, I patched the tire (after the first reply in this thread), replaced the sealant. Rode some super rocky trails today. All held up.
