Cycling Bainskloof Pass

I heard thatBainskloof pass is closed due to roadworks.  Is it still possible to cycle the pass?  Would like to do it this Sunday from Wellington towards Ceres and back

No - the officials are quite determined to keep you off that road, no amount of sweet talking will get you past the guards.

Just checking if the above is still the case or if anyone has been allowed to cycle her recently. I'm staying just below the pass for the long weekend

Heya, so I "just went for it" and got past the guards.  I then dropped down into the northern valley towards Dolhoof and Oaklands here: 33°38'19.5"S 19°05'24.5"E

Lovely ride. Solid 12/10.

Don’t go on working days. We went recently on a Sunday with no issues. Saturdays are working days.

PS - Thanks to the Varia I was able to use the lane, and react when vehicles caught up.  VERY handy in these conditions 👍
