Thanks for these @Admin

I'm slowly making my way through the next few months of events. There might be a bit of forum spamming but it'll settle down in the next few days. We'll let some event organisers know that the calendar is up and running so they can start listing their events.

But feel free to help me out by listing your favourite events 🙏

Was the event listing go down? Can’t say I noticed, if it was.

Yes, it did. Over a year ago. It reverted to only being forum topics for that time.

Please post your events here when you're ready to start marketing them.

Does anyone have the GPX of the routes?

I assume no full roads closure?

not full road closure, unfortunately. Which means there are certain parts that get a bit sketchy with cars and trucks.

Let me see if I have a GPX, havent done it in a few years so the route may have changed slightly

If you're doing the Ride for Sight on Sunday, you will see the condition of the R23, albeit in the opposite direction. There are roadworks (no shoulder) currently for about 2-3Km at the pointy end of the route (45Km).

Some other sections with some potholes (currently) are also marked in red. The section marked (80) on the map is single lane in both directions, with cyclists going in both directions, as well as short distance riders all fighting for the same space (along with cars). Being flat = bigger bunches for longer, which is probably the biggest problem on the route through Boksburg.

Seedings out.

Another good training ride starting from home to Emperors, race hard, and ride home again. Some big holes (but not deep) along the route, that needs some attention before Sunday.

I'm not racing (despite it starting on my doorstep), but can perhaps join you for your ride home

If all goes according to plan, we're leaving at +/- 10:00 from the Emperor's parking area. You're welcome to ride with us (20Km to Alberton); but we might be stopping for coffee on the way home. Will confirm on Saturday.

Are we coming back via ERPM again? Must be close you your last circle?

Yes, and there are lots of big layers of tar missing outside the entrance to the golf course.
A bit deeper than this but this give an idea of the size.
