Besides the price, am I the only one that think ESI grips are superior to the rest?  I tried two different cheaper knock-offs and its simply not the same standard as ESI.

Since they are pricy, preferably the "Extra Chunky" size, is there anything out there that is on the same level?

While we're talking about silicone grips, can any of you fine folk give me advice to prevent them from moving/rotating?

I removed them and cleaned bars and grips with alcohol but no improvement.

This piece of advice should come with a warning like: do not try this at home or something.

Have you tried putting insulation tape or gorilla tape upside down on your bar? So let me explain. You start the tape with the sticky side facing the bar so that it can create a fixing point and then midway through the wrapping process you turn the roll around so that the stickiness now faces the other direction. Then apply a spray or two of water on the inside of the grip and prepare for war to get them on the bar 😁

I use Ergon's, have been for about 4-5 years now. The fixing bolt is just rubbish 😁

Take some old closed end/inside only lock on grips. Strip the rubber off the plastic pipe thing, sand the plastic pipe down a bit.

Smear a thin layer of Gorilla adhesive on plastic

Slide silicone grip on, get it square and even.

Let the glue set and then use like a lock on grip but with silicone grip plushness

It's a pleasure

Most hassle free, experiment with a strip or two of insulation tape on the bar area, then liberally spray the grip and bars with hairspray, pop on and leave to dry.
Haven't had a failure yet on my bikes or others.

One reason why grips tend to rotate is from bike washing, soap etc work their way in there. Event bike washes are the worst for this as the washers soak the grips, hand wring them and then power spray. Looks all shiny and clean, until the grip starts to lose grip and the grip compound breaks down from excessive washing.

Hairspray is definitely a good fix.

I like the lock on option so I can fiddle easier and swap bars/components across bikes easier.
