Help Wanted: Converting ENVE XDR to HG 11 Speed

Hi Gang

I managed to get my hands on a really nice pair of ENVE 3.4 disc hoops with ENVE hubs, but they have a 12 speed SRAM XDR freehub body on.

However, I have a Shimano DA groupset... So I need to run a Hyperglide (HG) Freehub. From my research, it seems like the ENVE hub is based on MAVIC's ID360 hub, but I have very limited understanding of freehub compatibility. Does anyone have any idea where I could find a Shimano freehub for the ENVE's? Is there an ENVE distributor in SA?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Attached are some photos of the internals.

+1 for Olympic. They're Giant dealers so will have Enve stuff as well cos it's the same distributor.

Also they have a massive collection of obscure parts dating back to the invention of the wheel.

Thanks so much. Appreciated.

Thisd is true. They also have some very old, brand new stock with the barcodes completely faded, Some of the items are absolute Gold which are near impossible to find nowadays like high wrist aero short finger gloves, Neoprene winter gloves, Speedplay pedals and aero covers etc etc

I called and they were very quick to confirm they don’t have ANY ENVE freehubs… despite having the campag one on the website. So back to the drawing board. I know you can run 11 speed Shimano with 11 speed campag as a compromise so that plan is now out the window too.

Would a SRAM 12 speed cassette not work with your Dura-Ace?

My understanding is SRAM and Shimano are compatible.

I think Sid is running 11spd and the wheels have a 12spd freebody on. the 11 and 12spd is not compatible

Yep this one. The xdr is sram’s 12 speed freehub body for road so you can fit a 10t on the end of the freehub body (not sure why they couldn’t stick with regular xd like mountain bikes, it’s a little bit longer), and to complicate life in general for me and many others. I have a friend looking for an xdr for Easton hub haha.

There’s an enve wheel on the hub with the freehub body I am looking for… but I can’t shell out 12k for a freehub or a rim brake rear wheel I don’t need.
