PPA Seeding!!!

What is up at the moment with the people of Winningtime/PPA?

They still didn't fix the results of Durbanville and then they go and run the new seeding.

There's still two cyclist avg. 60 something and 50 something. Not going to happen when you start in M-N and Z.

Maybe we should ask the guys and girls who start for the long ride and are unable to finish it, to stay of the mats. They are not helping Winningtime nor PPA. Definitely not making us happy.

oooo, oooo, my favourite toppic.

LOL

My seeding is 42.9 groep Q. Wat het julle?

Reply from Winningtime, none from PPA yet.

I had warned PPA not to do the seeding run this week, as we were still busy with some outstanding queries BUT they went against my better judgment and ran the seeding anyway.

We had a problem with one of our boxes at the Durbanville event after one of the cyclist knocked it over. As a result we lost start data for over 200 cyclists. Up till yesterday, I was still receiving responses to an e-mail sent to these cyclists advising me of their start groups. The first two riders did not note that they had ridden the medium route and not the long route, which is why their times are showing under the wrong distance. This will be updated when our final run of these results takes place on Friday.

Winningtime's not going to be happy, I e-mailed them yesterday and they told me that they had requested to the PPA that they only run the re-seedings next week tuesday once they had sorted out all the timing issues...

Just looked at my seeding and the WCE isn't listed as a ride counting towards my index, so I'm sure they've (PPA) got a bit of work to do.

I think all of us should sent them a mail to make a point of getting this sort of mishap sorted, once and for all.

That's what happens to me in my line of work. If I make a mistake I'm getting it from everywhere. And the fix must be now, not later.

What if I was hoping to ride the Bonnievale in my new seeded group?

Hey Fanie, at least your new group will match group F, if we judge by the W.C.E. Wink

Are you referring to the PPA or W.Time? I don't how many times a month PPA look at their e-mail

Fanie: Mine is 40.2 = O

Pererace70: Both of them. They should work together getting this sorted and try to get the rest of the road season sorted. Worcester was a ..............., Redhill was a ......................, Durvanville still is a ....................Disapprove

What surprises me is that they didn't work in coalition on this one... W.T. said "We have too many mistakes for seedings to take place, wait till friday" and PPA said "to hell with that, we want an early friday" or something to that effect.

At the end of the day neither WT nor the PPA are responsible for the box getting run over at the D'ville ride.

WT had to manually confirm the start group of over 200 cyclists. I bet you that a large number of these cyclists are yet to respond - probably for good reason. The Durbanville ride will take time to sort out as a result.

The question is whether the PPA should have done the seeding run or not.

They probably knew that the Durbanville ride is effectively out of the equation but the Bikemax & WCE rides were valid. So maybe they ran it anyway so that at least those of you who had a good Bikemax and/or WCE ride could use that for a better seeding now rather than later. Think about it ....

If they delayed the seeding run they would have been castigated because of the delay anyway - so they are going to take flak no matter what they do. I personally think that they made the right decision - they had some data - so use it.

Remember they are not responsible for the box being run over by the cyclist - Sh!t happens! The only positive is that maybe WT will think about options to avoid their boxes being crashed and a safer finish for us???!!!

And before the cynics start .... Wink

I have ABSOLUTELY no personal or professional affiliation to anyone in the PPA or WT.

I do however think that WT, CC, PPA, GPPA, SACF etc. etc. etc. should sort their collective sh!t out so that we have a national seeding system that is worth something.

The only problem is that its not only one incident, but it keep happening.

I'm in the IT and there must be some way where you can sort this out. The results that doesn't add up you can through into unknown and not in the seeded groups.

The they can still run the seeding on the first Tuesday of each month. No props. As long as the winner time is correct all the other guys seeding will be correct.

Windbreaker..Please help me here

What has the 200 cyclist and box to do with a adjusted winning time of 1h29 for the 97km?

Do I miss some connection?

To help you a bit, the fastest recorded rider in the 97km race (as on the results @ the PPA site reeds)

Siebrits, Konrad EL68 EL 02:19:18 3/669 M 3/601 41.78

THE QUESTION IS: What was use to adjust the winning time from 2H19 to 1H29?

Can you see the issue?
