I heard local traffic officers speak about it on Thursday evening when I was involved in an accident myself. Drunk driver skipped the stop and turned in front of me in my bakkie. Hate to say it, but my hometown is now really taking a turn for the worse.

Glad to hear you are safe!

So many people die due to these idiots.

And stopsigns, if they are still there, just do duty as mere ornaments🙈

I'm always watching the cars behind me when I stop at a stop sign to make sure they don't drive into me.

My stop technique actually involves me bringing my vehicle to a complete stop. Earth shattering idea I know, but that's what I do. I'm no longer surprised how often people actually expect me just to roll through and when I stop they suddenly have to scramble to avoid hitting me.

Here where I live in Cape Town stopping is only done when people see a car with blue lights. Lawlessness abounds.

Oh yes and the same applies to red lights,

The amber lights also ignored and i often count up to three cars who speed up to  go through the red light, it’s just sickening!

If I see it’s red and I’m waiting to turn right I sometimes purposely enter the intersection, the look on their faces when they have to stop or slow down is something to behold, no respect for the law or consideration for other road users.

I do the same. The other day I had a guy behind me giving me sign language because I stopped when the robot was amber. Seemed to make him even angrier when I gave him the thumbs up and clapped my hands.

If we can't even keep to the simple rules of the road, then the "thou shalt not kill or steal" rules stand no chance.

Best thing to do or what I love to do. If they are upset and going nuts, blow them a kiss. I like the confused and scared look on their faces 😂🤣

Festive season is one of the few times I can actually get out and ride mid week, but it's also the time I often think twice about going out for this very reason. 😥
