First stage event coming up in June.

Two options are Pyga 650 and Merida 400.

The Merida is a softer ride and easier easier peddle,  while the Pyga is lighter and the wider handle bar makes controlling the bike easier.

Merida component Shimano with drop seat.

Pyga components Scram and no drop seat. Sales person did say they can install a drop seat.

The Merida 120 9 400 Comes with Suntour Fork and Shock.

What does the PYGA come with ?

I prefer for myself RockShox over Suntour.

Why you buying a 650B to do stage races? You better off with a 29er. Pyga seems like a better option. But I would not buy a 650B for marathon and stage races.

Why only those two options and the golden rule of thumb:

Get the bike that you enjoy looking at, everything else can be upgraded and changed :D
