Any steel gravel frames off the shelf or imported by someone available ?

SOMA frames imported by David Malan via his company https://everydaycyclesupplyco.com

Fantastic to deal with, but it's a boutique brand and the Rand:Dollar being what it is makes prices steep. I owned the wolverine frame and it was a joy to ride.

The Spez Sequoia is also brilliant... Depending on the size, I've seen a few being advertised.

Otherwise there are a couple of options here;

and one or two of these;

Otherwise, if the budget is big enough, Chumba make beautiful bike frames. I bought a Velo-Orange and had it shipped via aramex global shopper.

I'm of the opinion that one needs to buy a GOOD steel bike for it to be 'better' that other materials.

Cheap steel is just heavy and not amazing.

Steel for steel sake lands up being expensive and disappointing....

Take a look at the Norco search, you can get it local. A friend has one and he likes it alot

Isn't that an aluminium frame?

I rode a friend's Norco Search a couple of times, great bike and excellent value for money. His was definitely an alu frame version though.

Curve (Benky) had some Kevin of steel frames.

There were a few steel Rondo frames - not sure if there are any left though.

I have seen a few Standert bikes cruising, but have no idea if or who distributes them here.

I got my steel frame made by Dave Mercer. Not imported or custom, but his 'off the shelf' geometry.

These look like fun. Dan Craven from Namibia (with a bit of help from Mercer)

You get a steel version aswell, not as common as the alu version though

Thank you everyone who responded. Some nice options out there my customer is going to have a hard time in making a decision .

Here's another spanner, Curve Kevin. Columbus tubing and an absolute joy to ride. Kev Benky represents them here.
Alternatively you could go for local bespoke build with Mercer and your customer would have a bike for life.
