I entered last night! I'm hoping for a sub 5h30 this year – hopefully much more likely with a better start than last year (parking disaster) 😂 It should be a lot better at the new start venue.

Not quite convinced that the traffic at the new venue will be any better - nothing against the venue itself but again just one access road for everyone + the start chutes using the exact same road as people entering the venue.

PPA should really rethink the types of venues they use for a race like this, previous venues like Stellenbosch High and Wellington much better at handling the traffic.

we lucky to have a 1 tonner this year. thanks to the parking behaviour of cyclists in general, very few venues / and associated parties want a cycle race in their area.

No plaaspad to get to the parking, and looks possible to have cars going in while cyclists use the other side as chutes. I don't foresee too much hassle with it.

My issue is not so much with a plaaspad, but 1000(?) people plus using a single road & single access point to get into the venue. An issue I have seen a few times when wine farms host cycle races (and as someone who is as a standard 5 minutes late for every event he attends...)

Not sure this is a completely fair comment - the last large event I attended was trailseeker wellington - single entrance and exit point, ample parking inside, efficient and confident team of parking marshalls directing people quickly into a well structured parking system - it works

what doesn't work, are the peeps parking outside - hence no more events starting and finishing in St-bosch
