No mention of Jaco (Kakaa) anywhere around here? I saw on FB he passed. He was one of the OG thehubsa crew...

Remember when we had the first Hub Run, he was still riding for TCS, had lots of fun that day.  RIP KAKAAA.  Came as a big shock

Life's been kind of **** the last few years.. (late) wife battled three different cancers, covid twice (as in ICU covid), and eventually last year she passed away from pneumonia.

Haven't cycled in 5+ years, gave all my bikes to a development club..  but then recently something happened that I didn't expect, so might take up riding two wheels again for fun..

Came across this old thread - nice to reminisce about the good old days when the Hub was the wild west. We could say what we wanted, drop F bombs without getting warning points or banned - Oh !! the fights and arguments we had were intense, rough and funny. But what i liked best was the advice and help that was given out. Even when a Hubber had financial or health issues, lots of us stepped up to the plate to help complete strangers, we donated bikes and parts to the needy, went after scammers that even the SAPS would have been proud of.

And not to forget the legendry threads - "Bike Porn" "Girls on Bikes" alas all not allowed in our politically correct world today.
Can't remember his name but the padmaaker that used to work in Angola who rode a tandem and our Campy / Shitmano arguments.

The time when comments were allowed on buy and sell listings - You would'nt dare over price a listing for fear of being called out.

I been here for 19 years and BikeHub has become well .....Bleh ! so nowdays i keep my F-bombs to myself and have become more of a lurker when i get bored and have nothing else to do.

But its good to see some of you old F@#$ers (sorry admin but i had to) are still around lurking like me

Yip BigH had a fight with almost everyone at some point. Used to call people 'suurtiet'😁

I think he sometimes just riled people up to get a response.
I remember one hubber calling him a troll.
That went down well

Who remembers the TCS (team cough syrup) fights
And BMW driver who made allegations that he could not back up with facts.
Pantani ( Lincoln King) being the fashion police and calling everyone out
AND the price fixing war that came out as a voice recording

Please feel free to add the memorable fights

And the one where the guy sold an expensive watch, when they buyer opened the package it was old Huisgenoot mags.

And who was they guy from that TV add where he leans against the guys car and the driver reverses away causing him to see his ass - he was also on here
