Bike for AfrikaBurn

Hey folks,

I’m thinking of doing AfrikaBurn this year,  and would never do such a thing without a bicycle. I know of the great cause that is Pedals for Peace, which is an option, but honestly I’m looking to drop like R2k max on a bike that I can pimp out, and ride for a week on the sand, and then I’ll happily donate it to a worthy cause/commuter. 
 

So my two questions:

1. Where do I find a sub R2k bike - the classifieds here seem to overvalue even their old 20 year 26ers. Or do I just buy a Makro banger?

2. How would I find a worthy person in Cape Town to donate it to thereafter?

What size bike are you looking for?

Have an old 26er Cannondale advertised in the classifieds for 2500.

Willing to drop to 2250 if keen. Size is medium.

Its pretty rough out there. I'd get a 160mm enduro bike if I were you.

‘Doing afrikaburn right’ is a slippery slope and things just go down hill from there. Might as well go full retard and take a DH bike😁
