As A 3rd party payer I can quite understand the requirements. 
and for POPIA … we really do hope that works ! How many call s do you receive for a cellphone contract/ insurance / etc. the theory is great!

BUT .. I do believe buyers do take this fee into account. that is only human nature. 
BHP has complicated the process

I think you are generalizing. It really depends if you've been scammed before and vigilant going forward. Most of my sales and purchases are EFT and I buy and sell quite a bit out of Cape Town.

As Nick said its created to build trust and there are 2 reasons people use Bike Hub Pay, 1 is that they wont get scammed and 2 that the item is as explained in the ad. 

Most people purchase from me as I'm a long standing member of Bike Hub and my ratings. I use Bike Hub Pay if I see its a new member with no ratings, other than that I normally just make direct contact and EFT.

Last thing, Ive never picked up that the younger generation doesnt want to chat anymore, both here on Bike hub and Facebook Market place and I'm 48. Ive spent hours sometimes chatting to guys  wanting to learn more and especially the younger generation

Just concluded my first bijehub pay transaction - I was the buyer, seller in another city. Factored half the BHP fee into my offer and made a fair offer, perhaps slightly high to the seller - he accepted. Offer made on Sunday, payment approved 5 minutes ago (Thursday morning).

I do not buy often, but when I do, I mostly use BHP.

The BHP cost is never considered when I make an offer. My offers are based on what I believe the part is worth to me and what I can afford to pay.

The cost of the BHP transaction is for my peace of mind. Enough stress already. Don't need to add to it when buying a bicycle part.

Sometimes I have to guide the seller through the process if they have never used it before, and afterwards I get mostly get positive reactions from them about using it.

No Argument just my opinions 
Lets say that I am not happy with putting my personal details out there. That was what stopped my sale.

POPIA and Identity checking sound all cool and upstanding ... but we know criminals don't play by the rules. 
I'm a keep it simple kinda guy.
 
I say that BHP saw a gap in the market and filled it. Great
Im not seeing its value as other hubbers do.

Im just not seeing the value and as you have read in the threads .... the cost of the does play a role in the offer price - rightly or wrongly.
We wont know the real truth. 

What this thread has done is spark some conversation.
