Hi I recall a thread but can't find it ..  .

Is there a difinitive solution to transport an e-bike battery from Italy back to SA at a non-prohibitive cost?

Family leaving Italy in 4 days time....

Doubtful, in all likelihood you will have to have it shipped. They won’t be able to board the plane with it.

The guys at Trailwolf had this same issue building up an Amflow DJi for a client. Everything bar the battery was brought in by air freight. Could be worth speaking to them to get an idea of the process. Alan or Jacques - 0100070660

Cut it up into 160W sections and give each one.👀

Thats the max size/capacity lithium battery airlines who allow it (not all do) will let you bring on a plane in a fireproof container. 

but seriously, as above…realistically not possible by air.

I'll give them a call tomorrow or hes going to donate to LBS in Tuscany....used for 2 month's

Can you buy a battery for this bike in SA ?

 

Extreme option .... ask a battery service centre to remove the cells, just leave the casing and BMS (battery management system).  Then in SA get the battery re.packed ...

 

 

Suddenly shipping does not sound too bad :eek:

Thanks again, chatted to Jacques, one had to send via sea freight, customer arranged his own.
