Doping in SA cycling

Who would you like to see tested amonst the local riders. Think about your club/team mates.

Why is it that 90 kg sprinters outclimb 65 kg climbers at The Jock.

What tell tale signs are we looking for in dopers?

Where can we buy the stuff?

HINCAPIE' date=' Jorge *1,91m tall 83kg* gets 37 GC on the Best Climber class at TdF not a weight problem & far as we know not tested positive
[/quote']

Indurain was one of the heaviest tour winners at about 80kg's, although who knows what kind of juice those guys were using in those days.

Where can I score Viagra???

Read somewhere that a lot of the athletes going to the Olympics are already testing positive for Viagra.....

Apparently improves cycling times by up to 15% at altitude or in polluted areas.

BUT that olympic village is going to be one festive place in the evenings..... smiley17.gif

Talking about Viagra, here in Afghanistan they sell a box of Viagra for $ 25 USD.  The whole box not a pill. but for 250 pills.ShockedShockedShockedShocked

Seems the Afghans have not got the powerWinkWinkWinkWinkWinkWink

i do not think one of our teams have the budget for doping....the riders already getting peanuts...! [/quote

You will be very suprised.

haha.. you dont need lots of money to dope. Norseudoephedrine is available over the counter at your pharmacist.

heres a tip : If someone is shaking like a leaf before a race - they're up to their eyeballs on the stuff. I've seen it at pretty much every race' date= even WP champs...
[/quote]

Correct! and don't forget the goosebumps that are as prominent as a bad road rash. Resulting in all sorts of excuses as to why they have themShocked

There are several people that sell the stuff and if you keep your eyes and ears open, it is VERY obvious.

The main problem in SA is, we don't test as often as other countries so a lot of these guys with the shaking leaf and goose syndrome, all get away with it race after race.

If you need to doping for local SA racing you must be useless!

I can honestly say I never even thought about it when I raced as a semi pro (1 x Rapport tour' date=' 9 x Giro del Capo's, 3 x Argus cycle tour under 2h30 and a total of 25). My racing weight then was already 85kg.

This past month was the 1st time in my life I even gave into antibiotics for a really bad cold. More recently I have tried some legal stuff for weight control those who no me yes at 96kg those hills are harder!

My favourite juice for my water bottle is peach ice tea or sugar and water and a bit of coke - you can get it at any corner caf? and when you on tour that maybe all you can find, and before you guys say I must be really old I am only 35!

that is ancient!! Wink

I don't think the issue is where to get the stuff (EPO) (Effedriene) (Blood transfusions) etc.

The real concern is the tell tale signs of Local dopping for racing. The sypmtoms of usage,

Then the responsiilty is on us the cycling community to ensure that we highlight these cases to the Cycling Federations etc of possible dopers, so that the can be tested.

Ie, the chumps that require Effedriene etc to race locally.

So . what are the various symptoms of Doping in cycling and things to watch out for.

Goosebumps even on a warm day

Suddenly a rider being able to ride away from climbers on hills.

Guys shivering at the start and having to Pe.e.e like 4 times in 10minutes.

Lets get the symptoms out there and catch these cheats.
