Why would you want a height adjustable seatpost? I mean one that is more adjustable than a regular one? 

 

These can be adjusted on the fly by about 75mm.

TNT, when you get to technical stuff you want to get the seat out of the way to make it more manou the bike to handle better.

People discussed the quick release option on the seat post, and Titus, Lefty and others in the know seemed opposed to the adjustment of seat posts. So why have one of these things?

It's only for trails and freeriding not cross country.

At the risk of sounding like a stuck record:

them). Works wonderfully. Great for descending on my bike's geometry,

or for just changing the height of the saddle a little when my legs get

sore."

 

However - if I didn't have one, I wouldn't miss it, but because I do have one, I use it all the time...

I have one (joplin R) on the Heckler, and before that i had 1 on my Teocali, friggen awesome, especially for steep technical descents n drop offs (oh wait, where the hell else will u use it). Rather go for the 'R' model, it's much easier to hit the bar mounted remote lever without having to take your hand off the grip. The lever under the seat is a cheaper option, but then u godda take your hand off the bar n adjust it instead of just sitting or standing to adjust the height...

I've got looong legs and find that my usual seat post setting is high enough to make it difficult to get behind the saddle on steep downhills, so for me it would be a good investement even for XC. It's pretty amazing how much difference a few cm's in saddle height can make...

It seems nobody makes a 27.2mm model as I will need on my Ellsworth. The Joplin is available in SA distributer is shamus@bicicletta.co.za
