People discussed the quick release option on the seat post, and Titus, Lefty and others in the know seemed opposed to the adjustment of seat posts. So why have one of these things? At the risk of sounding like a stuck record: "I have a Maverick Speedball (which is now the Joplin - they sold the patent tothem). Works wonderfully. Great for descending on my bike's geometry,or for just changing the height of the saddle a little when my legs getsore." Baaisikilist Posted August 28, 2008 Share I have one (joplin R) on the Heckler, and before that i had 1 on my Teocali, friggen awesome, especially for steep technical descents n drop offs (oh wait, where the hell else will u use it). Rather go for the 'R' model, it's much easier to hit the bar mounted remote lever without having to take your hand off the grip. The lever under the seat is a cheaper option, but then u godda take your hand off the bar n adjust it instead of just sitting or standing to adjust the height... SwissVan Posted August 28, 2008 Share I've got looong legs and find that my usual seat post setting is high enough to make it difficult to get behind the saddle on steep downhills, so for me it would be a good investement even for XC.
