a contract is in place but mr. manager regularly reminds us that any good lawyer can get "him" out of the contract - so we dont even go there. Supplements have been received 1 month out of 8 other extras promised nothing has come off - when you ask questions the standard answer is the sponsors have not yet delivered . With regards to the most basic item any rider needs to be part of a pro team - the kit we ride in- well that is another story 2 sets of kit for racing and training for the year and winter has come and almost gone again without any extras to keep this pro teams riders warm.

After every race we are all being fired for not being a "pro team" yet we do what we are told - then we r holding back the bunch as our "leader" is in the break  - then suddenly we have to chase as our leader needs help we work our *off and then when the "leader" doesnt make it to the party it is our fault we are not racing like a pro team - just following our pro managers? instructions.  I realise today that we are not a pro team and not due to the lack of talent or willingness but due to the fact that we are not MANAGED PROFESSIONALLY!!!  As some of you have mentioned there have been lady pro teams in the past that have been MANAGED PROFESSIONALLY - AND WELL DONE TO THEM.

Maybe it has to do with our managers reasons for being in the sport - to promote 1 single rider (with an hidden agenda - or maybe not so hidden  )

so a word of advice to young ladies who want to ride pro keep your eyes open and speak to other pro ladies before you decide to sign up with what you might consider being an "established" ladies pro team. You can do better for yourself while actually enjoying your cycling.

Hmmm, no guessing as to what team you're talking aboutWink

I love my clubHug

Any good lawyer can also keep you in your contract and burn the manager. the law is not only available to those in charge.

Problem is, the riders don't have the money to get a decent lawyer and many lawyers don't want anything to do with cycling.

Then someone else said about the riders must make sure its part of a contract and not word of mouth....well, for the riders that have contracts, many teams still don't give half of what they should get. The manager just pull up his shoulders and say he received nothing and can't do nothing, cause he cares actually about bullsh*t and won't do anything to get his lazy ass of the chair.

If you one of the few that have the money to go after a manager with a lawyer, well. With the way cycling here is going on, you will just get screwed later for just standing for your rights.

Ladies cycling here is a sick joke with all this nonsens. You can say they improved this year with riding with vets and so.....that is just bull......with things like this ladies racing will stay the same.

Seems to be a lot of generalising here. If it was that bad for all the pros, why don't they do something about it? Don't get used a problem, find a flippen solution, otherwise in three year's time you'll be posting the same criticisms on The Hub.

Some did, allthough they just a handfull. And its a pleasure to help one or 2 of them, but its a sad affair to see the rest still taking all the crap and doesn't stand together to achieve something far more.Wink

has anyone noticed the poor management in some of the pro ladies teams???

where riders dont get what they were promised and dont get pulled into the team because one or two riders take the spotlight in the team.

ladies are being misused and unfairly treated..some riders never get the chance to perform at their best because they have to work for other ladies whos racing days have long gone expired..

and im just wondering if all the things the sponsers put into the sport actually reach the riders..?

What!!!! there pro teams in SA???ShockedShockedShocked Who???

Try this:

Stop bitching!! , Train Hard , Save the little salary you get, try base yourself in Europe , get noticed , get a contract ....then you can come back to SA and say you did it all yourself!Big%20smile

Ok!!!..I'm leaving!

101%  I agree with you...If the guys can do it,  and there are SA guys living in poor conditions, riding there guts out, to make it on there own in Belgium etc. You don't hear them bitching...because they know what it takes. No soft hand outs for them...

suppose SPARROW never had a podium finish in the ladies hence why she does not give her name in her profile!!! ONLY cowards do not give their real name ... as it is easier to shoot into the dark without a name!!

ok this is going to sound (or read) like a stupid question now, but I dont know that much about road racing, but why dont women compete in the tour de france? I assume they're not as fast as the guys, but are they not even allowed to take a chance?

They probably also have to qualify or be seeded, but there arent really big races like this 1 out there for ladies, or maybe we just never hear about them? Just looking at SA races though, the ladies compete/ride in the same race as the men when it comes to Argus & 94.7 so why not Le Tour?
