Well' date=' I must say I have been enthusiastically reading this blog for the past 3 days and there is one thing that keeps playing in my mind. OB is a lot like Lance in many respects. Not only has he got the power to put most elites away (at the ripe old age of 40 something) but he has the ability to draw over 7000 hits in such a short period, I am sure super cycling would love to generate that much interest on a Tuesday evening, considering the amount of advertising done!!!

Throughout Lance?s career he was the best, he knew it and everyone else knew it. A lot of the time when that happens you find these ?small men? who will repeatedly try to bring you down.

I know OB has often caused a stir at many an event. That however does not warrant the abuse some of you ?men? have written on this blog.

TNT1/intern- ?Add?s spice? - whatever mate! If a Lucozade, yoga sip and slap chips at half way qualify as ?spice? then OB is full of it!!! If you want to see ?spice? have a look at the rest of the ?chicken legs? standing on the start line!! I could mention names but I?m better than that!!

Marius- ?He drives a Ferrari, must mean he has a small penis.?- someone who condones another because of something they worked there arse off to buy can only mean one thing- You (Marius) my friend are the one with a small penis and ego to go with it!!! On that note I would love to see what you have sitting in your driveway! SAYIN!!

Oh and Mallo- that huge thing in his back pocket would have been a bag full of ?spice? NOT- it would have been a spare tubbie you moron, sorry to disappoint!

Here are a few examples that jealousy really does make you nasty. Perhaps you three and the rest of your mob should show up at the races and let your legs do the talking or perhaps that will never happen because you spend to much time in this chat room knocking the people you secretly aspire to be!!!

I am not ashamed to say that OB is a true friend and has a heart bigger than most. OB is a far bigger man than many of you will ever be but I guess he has already proven that by the warm hearted comment he posted on this blog last night!

When you're off of your knees and back on your feet wiping your mouth, I'll see you at the next race.

I have ridden with OB in the TdF group in the mornings' date=' and he sure as nuts can ride. I have followed this thread and seen all the comments about him and how the whole thing has degenerated into some harsh comments and accusations. To which I cannot add, as I have only been a cyclist for 3 years now, and don't know the ins and out's about all the rules and cheating etc which was mentioned on this thread. But I for one, would be interested to see him partaking again in the races and the effect it would have on the podiums. I'm sure some arses are going to get kicked big time. My understanding is that there are quite a few prominent cyclist with some skeletons, still doing races and doing quite well. Just a comment, not partial, but giving the man a chance again. Maybe it would be good for the sport to have him back again.[/quote']

Now I remember! Those were the days. Some of these people are quite famous locally. I do not know OB personally, but I remember back in the late 80s that he would go train in the Sabie area for some weeks and then just wipe out everybody in the races.

Oh, ya, and I'd just like to point out that your ability on a bike has absolutely sweet FA to do with your value as a person. That's one of the wierd and persistent misconceptions of especially road racing cyclists. If you're a good rider, you're somehow more valuable than the poor suffering funrider. WTF is all that about? Surferboy?

Yes, I checked with CycleEvents this morning, and payment was received yesterday - hats off to OB, he did the right thing, even though he didn't really have to.

Just a pity that the series is over - i'm sure he would have had a big impact on the racing had he ridden the other events.

I can't wait to see how this unfolds at future events. Looks like Mighty Mouse and Jock Green are going to have some serious competition.
