TNT1' date=' two things:

1. Was OB wearing a helmet?

2. Why is he suddenly racing vets when he can still kick the arses of most Elites? He's not 45 yet is he?

[/quote']

1. Actually I have seen him wear a helmet before.... But that was still quite a good joke... This time I don't know... I can ask him though...

2. Ya, He can take on most of the elites, I think he's just gone 45 or 46....

Peanut not taking a swipe at you.The officials up on the embankment know they were at fault and passed the buck.

Sean: you never seen this before on the online entries or race pamphlets:

"Seeding:

Seeding to be done according to Cyclelab National Seeding index for all online entries and pre-entries received and paid before relevant closing dates.

Offline late entries will be accepted at registration only - a penalty fee of R50 will be applicable. No seeding for late entries"

This does not apply to licensed categories.  You can do a late entry into a licensed category.

Thanks mallo. Wasn't aware of that rule. I usually enter all races late but normally get grouped where my seeding says I should be. At the moment' date=' that would be in ZZZ...

Late entries are allowed into the licensed categories.

Yes' date='  I am considering either permanent numbers, or some other means of identification that ensures entry into the series.

It's just a pity that one incident means that money now has to be spent on preventing it next time, instead of the money going to prizes etc.

Surely you save money?Confused Mr Armstrong, here is you race number for the season. Please look after it otherwise you have to PAY for a new one. You issue once at the beginning of the season and no more Tannies doing admin repeatedly throughout the season.

I actually have no idea what this series is about so am totally winging it but hope it helps.Cool

The series doesn't print any numbers currently, the hosting event does.  So, now the event would have to print numbers, and the series as well.  I will need to discuss with the various timing companies etc to maybe get a specific block of numbers allocated to the series, then print a set of cloth numbers maybe.

Bruce wouldn't it be easier to issue an  ID card (similar to the licence card) which the person would have to produce in order to collect a VS entry at registration. ie. he must have his licence plus the SuperSeries card. It wouldn't cost too much to produce a card and laminate it.

At least he's actually entering races in writing now. Wink Maybe he's still getting fit after the winter and wanted an easy race or two before racing Elites again... Or, maybe he's finally conceded that he is actually old enough to race vets. Should spice up the Vets Super Series in 09 if that is the case...

I would put a race number on the bike and the cloth number would be the race series logo. You know the numbers that have been allocated for the series so those numbers get blocked out and you dont need to print those numbers for each race. Can save the race organisers money as well.

From what I hear this oke is streets ahead and it has nothing to do with training hard. That sort of 'competitor' may add spice, but I'd prefer a dose of ethics thanks.

I vote for ethics

Also, I believe every licensed rider gets a permanent number at the beginning of the season that has been allocated through his team, which has a max squad number preventing anyone willy nilly being able to licensed categories. this way you have to prove your worth to ride in a licensed cat, and at the same time, you increase the competition and thusly the quality of racing in the country

The sad part about this saga is he rode well throughout the race until AM and JG decide it was time to dump him for not wanting to work with them( Not that they needed his help)The look on his face when said gentlemen rode away was staggering as he came to a complete standstill whilst they powered up the climb.
