Collin, here is a suggestion

the energy suppliment/ sport suppliment market is more than just energy gels.  Some guys prefer to use drink mixes over gels.  I have a friend that actually mixes his gels with water in his water bottle.

Also there is a bit of brand loyalty.  If one USN/breakthrough/PVM product works then there is a tendence to stick to that manufacturer when buying other products (there is a belief that there is compatitbility between products from one manufacturer)

ALthough you have a brilliant product (where is my free sample and are you willing to sponsor clubs) it is not supported by other products in a range.  Although it is not always wise to diversify when you have a winner, in this case I would recommend it.

Vooma was independent and taken over by USN.  PVM/Energy dynamics also has energy bars, and drinks.  Even GU has diversified.

Good Luck.

Hi Colin,

What works for one person will not work for the other , in my case PVM products does it for me , i stick to their energy bars - lots of variety to choose from. Gels dont seem to do it for me - tried a few varierties including the Whasp gels and found that i got nausea's -  got similar experiences with GU and that orange packet - dunno if this is the primary cause or could be something else havent been able to identify the problem just yet.

Anyway Good luck with your sales.

PS: when is that Whasp energy drink gonna be available?

Hi Pornstar

What's the rationale for protein in a gel? Won't the protein lower the glycemic index? Any of the research on these products published?

Thanks

Protein does lower the GI, but protein stimulates the production of insulin.  Insulin is critical in the conversion of carbohydrates into glycogen so stimulating insulin production reduces the time it takes for the carbs you ingest to become available to muscles as fuel.

Also, even when glycogen is not depleted, the body still gets around 10% - 15% of it's fuel from protein (i.e muscle tissue) through muscle catabolism - having some protein (in the form of amino acids) in the bloodstream can reduce the damage to muscle tissue through muscle catabolism.

As far as I know, Energy Dynamics was the only gel that contained some protein.

The protein/carb ratio is important because it affects the speed at which the carbohydrate is absorbed through the stomach walls.

Ive just launched a whole range called phyto organix and 4 more whasp products, it hit me R350 000, no extra cash lying around...

Online could work but then it works aout expensive as postage charges are a lot...
