AndreZA Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 I've got these on my bike (only in black) and so far so good. And they are tough. The end caps on my bars are knarled from my last spill and these bar-ends does not have a mark on them. http://www.bbbparts.com/products/bike_parts/bar_ends/images/tmonkey_s_sil.jpg
slowpoke Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 i have short ones and i love them. and no, i've never hooked the bar ends on anything.... if i'm gonna hook anything i do a good job and hook the middle of the actual bars to make sure i do a good job of it...
Spinnekop Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 Best you will EVER find is the Cane Creek Ergo II. http://www.canecreek.com/typo3temp/pics/5886bf0feb.jpg
dirtrider Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 For a roadie you really know ur MTB stuff . Thoose are awesome bar-ends
rock Posted January 5, 2007 Author Posted January 5, 2007 ja I had the cane creaks - very nice but still not conviced about the part the sticks out behind the handlbar, kinda gets in the way a little when your hands are on the handlebars. also they're too heavy. but will look good when clipped onto lock on grips.
NotSoBigBen Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 Those Cane Creeks are very naas but pricey! I use the 'equivalent' RAVX (Ergo X I think?) ones, always used bar ends and like the extra position it gives my hands when riding long rides. Use them often on tough climbs! My son on the other hand doesn't have them, doesn't like them and tells me they look nerdy but hey I'm old and I can do what I like!
buckshot Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 ok, let's all be honest now, and see how many people run bar ends with risers?
TitusTi Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 I refuse to do that! I went to the ends of the earth to find a flat bar with enough width, for a while I thought I might have to do that but I just couldn't.

Thug Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 Just saw this thread now, was on leave at the time. I use the Cane Creek Ergo 2's and love them, but last nights bushwacking experience through Alberts Farm got me thinking about whether I should remove them or not. MichH, what does Geoff the Aussie have to say about them ?
Buff Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 Use the Cane Creek's as well... on risers... na nana na na!!! More importantly though, who's cut their bars shorter and by how much?
TitusTi Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 Shorter, are you kidding, I had to look high and bloody low to find a 600mm flat bar, ain't no way I'm cutting the damn thing down!
dirtrider Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 Do it all the time . Only need to cut bout 25mm from each side . Make a moerse difference .
Buff Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 600mm - bro I've seen vaulting poles shorter than that
