Ark' date=' are you concerned about people giving their opinions on a sale or the way that their opinion is being mentioned ?

Ark........I agree with you. I posted a similar post some time ago and took a lot of flack for it.

Constructive critism is fine, but the worst are those people who comment just for the sake of it.

My favourite is the "undercutter" who posts on your sale saying how he bought the same thing from a friend of a friend for less than 20% of your price...

Or the "happychap" who posts how sh*t your product is and would never buy one - no reason why it's sh*t - just him/her saying it sh*t.

I'm all for constructive critisism but it needs to be constructive...

It does seem to be a trend on the hub though - "seagull" responses - fly in, sh*t all over everything and fly out...

This is what the Hub has become . You either get the bunch of bright sparks that think they are very clever by giving stupid comments to everything posted on here ' date=' then you get another lot that took it upon themself to throw mud at anything that move and then a few that still try and post something usefull on here . You will find that the old hubbers rather lurk just in case somebody say something worth reading . [/quote']

Times they are a changing.

and these are both from the same hubber by the way !!!!!

Your point is taken.

After spending a bit of time here you will know which people have SFA to add. The Classifieds here probably add more value than anywhere else because there are a lot of criticisms made, good or bad.

If somebody slates your sale stand up for yourself. I see the bargains that your sale were compared to have not surfaced. If your deal is good it will always come up tops.

Shouldn't we just give the post a chance & see if anything comes of the sale before we start critisizing or bad mouthing the ad ??

Ya, wait till page three, then if it's not sold, it's open season...

i just feel that if you wanna comment on the price etc.. & you are genuinely interested then rather PM the guy !!

but ja, this is an open forum & the internet so a lot worse could be happening, just thought i would share my thoughts, use 'em, don't use 'em !!

I think people commenting on prices is a good thing and it lets everyone know if they are about to get ripped off or score a deal. I think offers should be made via PM though.

I have learnt a whole lot of tings I didnt know before about road stuff just through peoples comments on the classifieds so I recon its great!

I think its great that people take time and effort to comment on product.  I like to know what other peoples opinions / experiences are so that I can make a more informed decision.  you just need to use common sense and filter out the rubbish comments.

all vebby vebby interesting.  For a bunch of so called capitalists you all whine and whinge when the principles of free market and free speach are exercises.  If you want to sell something on the hub, then everyone has the right to comment.  If you don't like it then why are you doing it?

Some real bargains have been posted and there has been a lot of POSITIVE support for the sale.  Consider Slowbee's COICC sale, over 20 pages of positive advice.  What about Kiwi's and tokens stuff, no complaints.

However, there are those who are wanting to make a fair profit at the expensive of another hubber.  If you are one of those, go open a bicycle shop and get involved in socialist price fixing.

In general the hub is a good place to buy as most guys here are either helping other hubbers, or trying to "dump" excess stuff at a nominal price.
