I am looking for a good allround tire choice.

I am currently running Crossmarks UST but I find although they roll well, they are absolutely horrible as soon as there is a hint of mud

Any suggestions?

Kenda Karmas, my tire of choice, great in the loose, mud they are respectable and clean really well.

If you ride the stick e or the UST on tar a lot they wear fast due to the soft compound.

My dry tyre is the small block 8. also in UST.

Take the extra weight, just helps the reliability, suck tearing the side walls.

Best tyre I have ridden on in YEARS. CRC them in. Only use the 'Protection' version, hand made by German slave labour.

I've got those in Black Chilli compound. Almost died when I had to fork out R430 ea in September last year.

Which one, CRC sell them for:

C Mountain King ~ R 141

C Mountain King Protection ~ R 400

C Mountain King Supersonic ~ R 365

C Mountain King UST ~ R 365

* Will check my LBS for their priceing. Don't mind paying 20% to support my LBS but anything more than that then I will order from CRC.

20%? You may as well get you credit card out so long.

I used the SpeedKings 2.3's and find them to be very grippy, with the ability to lean the bike into the bend.....but they all worn out now.

wanting to get the 2.4 Mountain Kings...

BTW whats with the sizing issue of Conties. cause the 2.3's are the same size as my CrossMark 2.1's

Just came from my LBS and the UST are R665 ... ouch. No wonder everybody is going the CRC route. I want to support my LBS but its obvious that the suppliers are making mega markups.

Conti race kings are awesome. we have quite a bit of mud here in the uk, and they have worked great for me. its an awesome dry tyre, but works well in the slippery stuff. but make sure you get the 2.2 version. the 2.0 dont work that great. if you need more grip , get a mountain king for the front.
