TWO mountain stages and not one attack worth the name. Can this be the most boring tDF in history?

One massive stage finishes at Arcalis and the only attack occurs with 1.6k to the finish. Another including the Torrmalet and not one favourite has a go.

Cadel has a half assed idea to join an early break without any team support, and expects to get away with it?. What is this man drinking?

But thats HIS attack for this tour, so now we can let him off the hook to follow Astana to Paris

This is not a bike race. This is golf!

I vote leave them to it. Maybe I will come back on the second last day to see an orderly procession on Mont Ventoux followed by a sprint won by Cavendish.

Some or other Astana will win this golf match by 1/10000000th of a second, or two strokes at the last hooooooooole.

meanwhile Phil and Paul give themselves hernias bending over to lick Lance's a$$.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!!!!!!!!

The tour is not won on the first mountain stage. Why have your team work themselves into the ground to defend a jersey that you only want to take in the last week and then defend. Remember they still have to go to the Alps and then the race will take on a completely different persona.

Astana are your answer. They are working the team into the ground to defend a jersey they havent even gotten hold of yet.

My problem is NOBODY else has the courage to attack.

Astana get the tour by default.

Booooooring

They are not there to provide entertainment, they are there to win the race. Watching other people doing their work is mostly 'Booooooring'

Well to be fair , the two mountain stages had climbs that weren't near the finish for any GC contender to put in a attack and hope to survive would be naive . 50km to go after a climb is not sufficient .

Cadel is the only one trying to attack , HE might of been trying to pull a Landis. If you dont try dont complain.

Sprinters jersey is far from decided yet . Cavendish cant win any sprint that is remotely uphill while Thor can.?

Astana has 4 Gc contenders and that makes it very difficult to attack a team like that. What The others need to do is to work together against the Astana train and wear them out. If they dont put time between them and Contador? before Mount Ventoux they could find themselves being forced to try and get 2-3 min on Contador who will have 3 super workers helping him.?

There are 2 things at fault here:

1. Main thing is the race organizers chose a stupid course. Only 3 mountain finishes, 50km flat after some of the biggest mountains, lots of flat roads in between. I think they did not want Contador to be too dominant too early. Also, TTT early in the race gives a big advantage to strong teams.

2. Astana team is so much stronger than the rest.

It's the routes fault. Too far after the climb foranyone to have a chance. And usually not much happens the first week. The race is in the Alps. Commentators do p*ss me off. They talk about the Lance group, Lance's Astana team. As far as I know Contador rides with the team leaders no. and was announced as the team leader. Lance should do as he expected from hie teammates in the past......work for your team leader.

Well so far thats exactly what he's been doing!!

BTW Contador and the word leader don't belong in the same sentence.

Welcome back Irishj9, enjoy the British Irish Lions tour did you?

Today was boring, boring, boring...

The route is starting to look like it could destroy this tour. A medium Mountain Finish, couple more of these Mountain in the middle stages, a TT of 40 flat Km's and then bam the Hardest Mountain in France! The End.

Less drugs means less attacking, its a good thing!

WADA and AFLD are doing their jobs and the peloton is scared. They even scared off blood doping. WADA is rumored to have new tests and they warned riders of retrospective testing.
