So I haven’t had a retro build/project for awhile, so I got a lovely Zini track bike from a fellow hubber. Thanks Evan….

It looks like the frame isn’t a locally made Zini. It has the Z pantagraph on the fork and Campy dropouts. There are no decals to indicate which tubing was used, but the frame is light. So I’m taking a guess its columbus SL or similar. The frame is very well put together.

The frame overall is in good condition. It just has some rust on the BB shell and dropouts, which I’m thinking of cleaning up and then getting it clear coated.

My Shimano 600 Arabesque set is coming on nicely, I am still looking for a crankset and brake calipers so if anyone have some please let me know.attachicon.gifArabesque.jpg.

When complete it will go onto this frameattachicon.gif

Those shifter levers are very beautiful! That says a lot, coming from a Campy freak!

I am thinking about manufacturing replacment/replica Time Cleats (Image Below).

Before I head down the road and get them reverse engineered I need to find out what interest there would be in making them.

The back Cleat will be made of bronze alloy and the front out of aluminium.

Obviously I cant give a cost at the moment as the more units ordered the price will go down.

Let me know if there is an interest and I can get the process rolling.

Battaglin built, mixed it up a bit. The bike mainly built with Campagnolo Veloce parts, but decided to use old school Campagnolo downtube shifters and Modolo brake levers, polished and no hoods.

Very nice Eppie! Love the colour of the frame and those Veloce monoplanars look very tasty! Now start the next one!

So, in the last week I spent too much!

Firstly, I bought some 50th Anniversary shifters through a contact in Switzerland, £40.

He has a complete set, unboxed, for £1850 if anyone interested!!

Then, because it's in my backyard and because I saw it first, I bought this PANARDI.

Still in the HUB's Classifieds.

Nice equipment, DA 7600 wheels and crank, but overall quite rusted and needs a repaint.

AND, turns out to be a late 70s/early 80s ZEUS 2000, yey!!!

So probably not Columbus tubing after all, as per the decals, but more than likely Reynolds 531.

I need to apologise to Morph for not buying his Mavic brake calipers, yet buying the Panardi. Sorry Morph, just could not resist!!!

Nice to see it is a Zeus! I have some treasured Zeus parts that I value similar to the 50th Anniversary bits.

Hey guys

Please help looking for a few parts to finish a build
  • Italian thread lock ring
  • 27mm seat post
  • black rolls, turbo or regal saddle
if you have anything please let me know

thanks

Glenzito (here on the hub) has a very nice Dura Ace 27 mm seatpost in his shop at a very reasonable price. I was going to take it for my Battaglin but it was to big. Let my know if you interested and I will inbox you his number.
