Does anyone have a Mavic Open 4CD rim they want to part with?

Sorry, I don't. But I do have a stock of Mavic MA2 rims for bikes from the mid-70s to late eighties.

These are plain, box section, silver, double-eyelet rims.

I also have a bunch of new 6-speed clusters waiting for a good home.

Are these rims 27" or 700c? How much are you asking for a set of rims?

Mike at Mean Machine in Germiston has some Mavic Open 4CD rims, brand new. PM me if you need the details.

That Bianchi looks fairly similar to the one I'm selling, except it's a different colour. Also couldn't find much info. Surprising seeing as Bianchi is such a popular brand.

Here's the ad with pics https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/12678-old-school-steel-bianchi-frameset/

Looks the same except you have bianchi blue and mine is some dark blue variant. Tracing a bianchi is hard work. Been trying to find catalogues to see if I can spot it, now that I have seen yours I am going to have to go back and look closer and see if I can spot those color bands on a frame somewhere

Looking at all the beauty in the above pictures, I hesitated posting the following, but for the sake of knowledge, here goes!

I bought this old Peugeot tandem recently specifically to ride next years Argus with my 11 year old son. The idea was to strip and respray it to do somewhat of a project with him and after the Argus to sell it again. It is in good condition and except for the newer shifters, stem, rear derailleur and casette, in original condition. It is a steel frame, heavy, solid and it rides beautifully.

Since we started riding it, however, numerous people have commented on what a classic it is. Now I think it is perhaps better to keep its original paint job and ride it as is or search for the original older components. Or is it just another old machine that we can change and modify to our hearts content?

I also would love to know where it was made, more or less when and any other relevant history.

What to do? That is the question! Retro gurus, please comment!
