dont get me wrong: i too support the LBS because they give me great technical service. BUt when it comes to parts, CRC wins A LOT. Not always, just A LOT.?

At the end of the day, it's a business, private enterprise, not some quasi government outfit. If you cant innovate, you are dead.

while the brains trust is focused on this thread - once I have the chain inside the coke bottle and its all shaken up and the liquid is dirty - how do I get the chain out again without having to cut open the bottle?

The blinken chain always kinks and never comes out easy !

Use a yum yum peanut butter jar. The mouth is wide enough that you can fit your hand in if you want to.

It is sad that the bike shops has to get the bad end of this...I think it is the wholesalers that needs to be looked at. Your LBS has to buy from wholesaler so there already is an issue...then you want a spoke from LBS then your LBS wants to order a spoke...wholesaler does not have stock so the LBS get the blame.

I think if any LBS had a choice they would rather import their own stuff!

Slowbee: maybe get some of that lube used by some of the LBS': it's amazing stuff, cos you generally cant feel a thing while they ream you. I guess you chain wont even notice the coke bottle, and just slither itself back onto your crank.

Auctionlamb: agreed.

I am obviously doff (the Hub applauds) but are you two on different sides or what? Delgado will not darken Cyclelab's door again yet Dirt-rider will only support them or FPC.

Hullo?

Mmmm you said it (the dof bit) . Should we be on the same side ? in that case Delgaro I appologize now please move over to my side !

I new the brains trust would solve the chain dilema.

But the question is now - after you do the turps thing - then you do the prepsol thing, then you do the sunlight soap thing, then you do the rinse thing. Then you lube the chain thing.

But the damn jockey wheels are a real bummer, and I cant always take the cassette of to clean.

Strange but ever since that little incident where some people tried to make out the LBS to be black sheep I have not bought from CWC either and rather go to FPC or the LAB . And I will fully support the govermunt if they decide to tax these spares that gets imported for bikes in an effort to save our bike shops .

You are more naive than I thought you are....... do you really think the small amount of cylists who buy from internet shops are hurting bicycle shops...... I just think they are greedy and want more of the share!!!!!!!!!
