We arrived early at Bakwena and parked close to the start. We dropped off a VA rider and waited at the car for our start just past <?: prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />7am. A VC rider parked close and relieved himself against a home owner?s wall, not even 3m from where we stood, he didn?t even turn his back on the people.<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

So I know some races don?t have enough toilets or it?s too far away from the parking. Some guys go the distance to pee behind a tree and out of sight, which is acceptable (to me). But this person parked his car 200m from the toilets and he could?ve used the vacant cubicles he passed on his way to the start chutes. That?s just pathetic.

I?m sure this dude doesn?t urinate against the local mall entrance on their weekend trip to the shops with his family. It should not be acceptable at bike races either. Please guys, be more considerate at races and use the toilets. If you feel you must relieve yourself at a race, go and do it behind a tree. Get on your bike and cycle a few meters away from the crowd.

I heard some guy relieved himself in the VA bunch during the race. He either didn?t bother to go before the race or he is not properly potty trained. But on a 2h ride, come on! He probably saw it on tv with the TDF riders, peeing while they ride on a 5-6h race over 230km.

A request to race organisers:

Hire more toilets especially the urinal style open ones for the guys.

It will make life much more pleasant for everyone.

Who wants to spend 20-30 minutes standing in line to pee before a race.

This seems like basic common sense.

On more than one occasion, I have seen guys whip it out in the elite start pen and just go on the tar. Nice. So next time you're wondering, it's not Energade.

I did my first Vets race a few weeks ago and saw a guy do this in the bunch and though WTF . I mean if you going to spit or blow your nose you go to the back or pull to the side of the bunch, this guy without warning just started doing his business and everybody had to move out of the way.

How about standing next to him, also gaving a go but against his back wheel....
