Ok, so opted for the light 25km.

I guess the problem with a mass event mtb race is any single track or obstacle creates a massive queue of riders.

tricky one for the organizers as without single track it's boring.

However, no excuse for the %$&** F%c&ers who feel they have the right to jump the queue. Stopped one idiot and he said..."it's a race."

If you're such a pro and racing, why are you doing a 25km and in the middle of the field?!!! smiley7.gif

Haha. True it is quite bad if you get a D@@S like that, that is why I moved from road to MTB... Some of the roadies were a bunch of idiots.

But, race organizers should opt for single track only later in the ride, by then the field would have opened up...

I am dirty, sticky from gels, muddy and smelly. EmbarrassedIt was the best fun I had in a long time. Well done for a very well organized race. congratulations on a superb course (for the 50, at least)

the first bit of congestion was only after 14 kays, i think it was where the 25 joined the 50 - it only lasted a kay or so .... lots of great singletrack

the idiots will always be with us ... yea sure, jump the queue or push in ahead of me ... if you can ride the obstacle, but if you're just gonna walk the thing, then stay where you are in the queue ....

broke the derrailleur cable straight off at about 14 kays :(

- thank you to the dude who stopped to help - i didn't even ask your name :( but THANK YOU for stopping :)

- single speeding is highly overrated. why wuld anyone want to MTB without lots of gears to choose from. that said - singlespeeders - RESPECT

- why on earth did the cable break - clean off??? how long are these cables supposed to last?

I really enjoyed the 50km course, the second half was nice and flowing. Just the last km or 2 rattled my bones a bit. That piece of track was probably cut yesterday.

I crashed out at around 46.5k CryAngryCry

I thought my front was running low (slow puncture), but did not want to stopClown and then it bit meOuch So I finished the race, first in the medics truct, and then in the recovery truck. If anyone helped me thanks (don't really remember much before getting out of the medics truck).

So now I have a severly bent fromt rim (scrap) and have lots of aches and pains - just ready for tomorrows race!

The worst bit of the coures was that part going past Hugo's Place (?) we waited an age!

I made a HUGE mistake (again) doing the 25km!

I's changed my 50 for a 25 not so long ago for various reasons, and man do i regret it!

took me what felt like 8 years to finish with all the stopping!

I realize with the shorter distance route there're always going to be hold ups here and there, just didn't expect it to be as much, i guess because there were 3 billion people ridingLOL, wow what a turn out!

don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining about event/route or anything, just my own stupidity!

IF,in future, for whatever reason, I cant do the distance...i won't do the event!

I'm no pro or a great rider by a long shot, but if a 10 year old can do the route on a bmx (man that little guy flewClap) I'm a chop for doing the same route! (with gears!!)Embarrassed

Yea was fun, but was a bit upset with the end. Why no beer tent or nice place to sit. Eventually they opened a little beer shop with warm beer. Why couldnt they let the MTB event have access to the end area and clean it for tomorrow.

Please dont treat us as the black sheep of the family, and make sure there is cold beer.
