Dollar, I drive an SUV, its called a VW touran. It is a lot wider than it is high has heaps of space inside, goes like hell and handles anything you can throw at it, on and off road....and no it's a straight forward front wheel drive 2x4. Just becaus ether "may" be one bad apple out there does not make them all like that:)

Haven't read through the whole thread, but watch a program on Supersport called 4 x 4 Take a deep breath, and see what that dude thinks of the Fortuner.

You are a funny guy... There is good reason why ford will never be good.

They are always 10 years behind and 20 years to slow.

The Toyota is built with one thing in mind, A 1 000 000k's

Like thay said, thay only start there life at 300 000k's

The only car I would buy with 200 000km on the clock...

Got a 4l Auto Fortuner. Am as happy as a pig in the preverbial. It's a fantastic vehicle for the price. Read that last sentence again. I'm not about to go and blow half a bar on a car.

Traded in a Hilux bakkie for it. On the tar it handles far better than the bakkie (obviously) and is thus inherently safer.

It hasn't misbehaved on the dirt, but when I next do a big high speed dirt trip I'll do what everyone who knows what they are doing does (which excludes Toyota) and put aftermarket shocks on. Problem fixed.davetapson2009-12-07 10:50:38
