Willehond Posted June 19, 2007 Share Great to know everyone is suffering from this! I have some Hub "buddies" who are piling on the miles and have done 17 hour weeks recently. !!!!With friends like these I thought I was the only one thinking this was downtime.... AuctionLamb Posted June 19, 2007 Share Had that feeling after Argus....took a month off comepletely! Got on the bike and wanted to cyvle again......it is a mind thing.....then I also have friend that can train like a machine 12 months of the year!!!! You train your @ss off for 4 months then you get the oaks on race day that say......"Hey, how are you? I have not been on the bike for 2 months and this is my second ride after Knysna." Race starts then off they go and get podium or top 5! HATE THAT!!!!!!
Ratty Posted June 19, 2007 Share I'm the opposite at the moment, I want to ride my bikes any chance I get! I was forced to have 2 months off at the beginning of the year thanks to a broken hand and I was going insane. I eventually started riding +- 15kms on the flat with one hand just so I could be on the bike.
racman Posted June 19, 2007 Share Having recently moved to CT last year, I have battled this winter - not because of the cold but the short daylight hours causes involuntary "hibernation". Only problem is, unlike plants, humans grow in winter without sunlight and excercise (and it's not taller !!) Now if I could only spend winters in Gauteng/KZN and summers in CT - any job offer anyone ?!!!
Guest colonel Posted June 19, 2007 Share Bloody hell Fatty - start thinking about Spring league and Hells...sure to get you out training.I'm gona come back to race with you youngsters again.. Hi BikeMax I had a look at my training logs from last year' date=' and exactly this time last year I was down with bad flu for three weeks, and then started commuting in mid July 2006 (still almost a month away), which obviously did my season a load of good, since I had my best season ever (see why training logs are a good thing!!) Hence I'm not to concerned with the training...once I get in to it again, I should be fine come the first league race. I was just wondering if anyone else also felt this way for extended periods of time?[/quote'] Ive been sick for 10 days now and everytime I feel "better" I get on my bike and Im sick the next day again. I havent ridden my bike for about 3 weeks aswell and Auctionlamb knows this as I bitvh to him on skype allday! Am I worried about Spring league? Yes I am but you know what it doesnt really matter cause if some people are peaking now they will be *** for spring is my theory!
Man with no name Posted June 19, 2007 Share Fatty, nothing like a little retail therapy to inspire yo ass again. Not sure whether I had to ride the Kremetart - so I got myself the new Oakley radar - until today I am sure that added 20 watts to my FTP power!! racman Posted June 19, 2007 Share Colonel, idon't worry - if you battle in spring league you could always "nudge" a few people over the white line and improve your position as the DQ's roll in...racman2007-06-19 02:49:

Well...then there's the spinning bike staring at me from across the room at this very moment - grrrr...we don't like each other much Haven't been THAT desperate... HomerSimpson Posted June 19, 2007 Share Having recently moved to CT last year' date=' I have battled this winter - not because of the cold but the short daylight hours causes involuntary "hibernation". [/quote'] ...and therein lies the problem. I have really struggled to motivate myself to ride this winter, the cold and wet arrived early this year, coupled with the rapidly decreasing daylight hours.. I seem to manage an hour or so on the MTB every weekend, weather permitting, and maybe a gym session or two in the week. I refuse to put the MTB on the IDT, and I am without a road-bike at present. With the velodrome presently not available, the track bike is also just gathering dust in the garage
Viskop Posted June 19, 2007 Share I don't really get that feeling. I do get VERY grumpy if I can't ride - like when it rains for days at end. I get the same thing Pokerface, something just doesn't feel right and then you get back on the bike and alls well.
pastapouch Posted June 19, 2007 Share ..my bike in almost three weeks' date=' [/quote'] goodness, how hard can it be to just walk past your bike and touch itJust go for some easy short rides, or go MTbing, RUNNING or swimming just to get some cross training in so you don't go really FAT!
