stewie911 Posted June 3, 2010 Share I thought your pedals looked out of place. Why not some eggbeaters. Then it would be 9.4kg

Weight Weenie Posted June 3, 2010 Share Tarmac -how bout some of the new Ti eggies and Race 29?r wheels from stans Hectic how the 29'er is then about as light as my 26'', though it would be much heavier, what does the frame come in at ?
Bike Mob Posted June 3, 2010 Share Tried the Eggies and they hurt my knees. I have Time Atac XS pedals now to save them, I will try the quartz and see if they work for me otherwise the wife gets them. The frameset breaks up like this for a Medium frame:Frame 1245g (Includes clamp)Fork cut 1614gHeadset 95gOEM Post 215gSpacers Supplied 6g. I only use one. With the mods I plan it will be 9.45. The seatpost is heavy cos I need a 400mm so 252g there...and I wanted a matching stem which is 25-30g more than say a Deda would be...

mtb_Josh Posted June 6, 2010 Share So I broke my old frame, wore out a chainring, tyres and pedals and needed a new seatpost for the frame. This is what I ended up with: It weighs 10.3kg at the moment... not bad for an aluminium bike with a reba fork!mtb_Josh2010-06-06 09:05:
stewie911 Posted June 6, 2010 Share What components? Interested to see how you got it to 10.3kg

stewie911 Posted June 6, 2010 Share Ok, so it's the wheels, tyres and brakes that get's it so low.
mtb_Josh Posted June 6, 2010 Share Ja, I think so. The tyres are about 500g each, the front wheel has a stans strip which is 100g and the back wheel just has insulation tape and a valve. I'm not too sure about the brakes as I've never weighed them, but I dont think they are all that light...
Weight Weenie Posted June 6, 2010 Share Lekker and light for that frame as well, really looks better than I though it would ! Some white AMC wheels would look good with a white saddle and the new XO/X9 in white accents The Eggbeaters should also be lightish as well as the 2 rings on the crankset, post is probly like 170g as well.
