Yeah Mackie, you are right. I have emailed them and will wait for their view before I take the belt sander to it...

Even if it doesn't become a warranty issue, I just want my bike sorted.

Just remember mate the more stuff you try might have an adverse effect on your claim, just send it back ,play it safe as there is no clearcoat on the surface which means its porous thus absorbing the red colour, the red is not on the surface but IN the surface. R3SL

I agree with GTRacing...

Will be chatting to the nice men in PMB tomorrow and will give everyone feedback.

Thank you very much to all of you for the advice and input. A painful thing this...

Just had a chat to Andre at Rush Sports and I'll send the frame down to them in early-Jan to get it sorted.

There was a particular batch where the clearcoat didn't bond to the paint properly and this is one of them.

Thank you Andre.

Did you have to pay for a re-spray?

If so how much was it, I might want to do some custom colours on mine

Try a product called blade made by shield, you can get a spray bottle from PnP for about R29, that cleans anything, we even use it to get stains out of my little mans baby grows

I use it on my bike, diluted to wash the bike and full strenght to clean chains and cassettes

OK, the polish suggestion is similar to another I got. Will get some tomorrow.

What does concern me is that if the paint is staining like this, it is clearly going to happen again?

I would contact Morewood, prehaps there was a problem with that paint batch?

Next muddy race / cycle .... wipe your whole bike over with a decent silicone spray before the race will prevent this problem
