Although Me Self uses and lurves Sram, thought this is some good appreciation of what is going on at the respectable cyclingnews.com:

Lighter, snappier, better performing products please readers of cyclingnews.com

While Shimano and SRAM have been garnering all of the attention with their respective Dura-Ace Di2 electronic and light-and-snappy Red groups, Campagnolo has quietly revamped its top-end Super Record 11 group for 2011 to make it the lightest and best-performing version yet - and this year's Cyclingnews Reader Poll winner in the "Best New Product" category.

Aesthetic changes are relatively minor and belie the major upgrades that are hidden within - the only obvious giveaway to casual onlookers is the new red-and-white logo - but a number of material changes brings the total claimed group weight to an industry-leading sub-1,900g. The rear derailleur now sports molded carbon fiber parallelogram knuckles and aluminum pulley and main mounting bolts, there's a lighter but tougher material in the Ergopower lever bodies, more aggressive machining in the Ultra-Torque bottom bracket cups and chainring bolts, and even optional titanium crankset spindle half shafts, which lop off 40g of mass by themselves.

Wow, "beating" the competition when they are not even in the cyclingnews.com list is kinda pointless...

I like Campy, but they are seriously playing catchup to Di2. No matter how smooth (or not) their super duper group is, the standard is Di2 today

Bold quote?

Don't believe DI2 can match the weight. Still not convinced electric shifting is necessary. Campag has an electric group, not sure I'd buy it. The power source looks dumb and there are still "cables" that need routing.

I'll stick with my super duper thanks

I guess it comes down to what you can afford. If you prefer the toyota range, go shimano/sram. If you prefer the german/italian engineering option, you know where to look :)

All credit to Campy, for being a force in the road market. They are at a huge income disadvantage to SRAM & Shimano for not having MTB components - probably why their electric gruppo is taking so long to get to the market. They also don't have a big piece of the OEM gruppo sales.

The story of the electric gruppo looks like a sad one for Campy - it looks as if they started with the idea, and/or had a working prototype before Shimano. Shimano started after them, overtook them and had the gruppo on the market years ahead of Campy. If they are not careful, Shimano will have electric Ultegra (Ui2?) on the shelves before the launch of electric Record. Campy was ahead with carbon components, cranks etc. I wonder what went wrong with their electric gruppo?

Didn't know that.

How bizarre - it is a massive emerging market!

Boys .boys it is all down to personal choice.......

If you ask me and I have ridden them all Campy & believe it not Micro-Shift have the best micro adjustment out of the lot, no scratch scratch ***, I am now on red and to me sram Red and dura-ace are the same concept.... they are on-off switches .As for weight that starts going all over the place when you use 175 cranks, BB30 etc....

So let look at this....

through some Zero Gravity brakes at 132g a set into the mix on a sram red press fit 30 BB a compct crank 52-36 and you will save an easy 250+ grams off the red groupset and will save yourself an easy 8k... over Super record....

So lighter for cheaper..........

sound like a plan

Hey, I love the mechanical stuff and I'd be damn happy to have super Record myself, but for the real cutting edge I think Di2 has the lead. All the guys I know on Di2 swear by it and won't go back to anything else (I don't have the priviledge myself!) and wax lyrically about shifting without thinking and never missing a gear. I know that sounds like a small edge, but I'm sure Andy Schleck is quite happy to be riding it next year. Might just help to know every shift will work 100% guaranteed...

I see you still having problems with your spelling - you should really seek professional help, who knows what doors would open for you, maybe you could even get a real job back in SA once you've mastered the art of spelling - "CHOP"

Had a sneak peak at the Schleck Treks this morning and they look awsome.Team is being launched later this afternoon and Team and bikes will be on show.

I was really impressed with the shifting on the Di2 when i tried it a while back.It did feel weird though when i first rode it but shifting is so easy.

 At least you have not lost your sense of humour, it's good to chirp my old Shitmano buddy.

Make sure you purchase only the best light construction equipment (Wacker Neuson) for those new roads up there, or they will all fall apart with the 1st vehicle that drives on them.
