Excuse me! Do I take my road bike on your mountain bike trails? Why do Mtbers think they can muscle in on our roads and still expect effusive greetings? You're just cluttering our "track" with those lunky things, and then we have to overtake. The least you could do is ride on the pavement.

referring to the earlier post... I can take it that youre a BMW driver then? ;)

see what do i need search for, when this happens? Nice, thanks! Seems like i not the only one who thinks this, therefore i must be right!

After posting that, I came to the realisation that there are going to be greeters and non greeters. I am still going to greet you regardless. If you greet back then cool, have a nice day. If you choose not to greet back then cool, up yours and have a nice day! It costs you nothing.

Having said that though, I started doing intervals the other day and I felt like I was bleeding through my eyes. If you had to greet me then I certainly wouldn't have responde with a cheery "Hi!"

I supopse it depends on the person and the situation. My advice is don't let it bug you. Just ride your bike and enjoy it!

Whats the story? Why are road cyclists so unfriendly? Is it an image thing? Or because i'm ....a mtbiker?

Went for an early morning ride with a mate on the road with our MTB's, passed most probably 50 guys on road bikes, not one greeted, past 4 on MTB's and the all said howzit.

gotta admit i had the opposite happen on my commute home on my trusty unserviced s/s road bike a few days ago - i pass this dude on a mtb, say hello and he doesn't even offer a nod. then he charges past me through the next red robot (yes, makes me ill to say i am seriously in the minority here) as if to make some kind of a point.

anyways...

"How precisely do you guy a bike?? "

Common decency would allow me 30 seconds to correct typo's. Typical roady. See what I mean?

I must admit that I'm a mtb'er that does a bit of road work (on a road bike.) Generally I find most people of both disiplines greet most of the time, especially if you greet them, even if it's a little nod of "yeh I know the pain you're going through."

Some of the comments here are insighting the differences between the the two and we're are getting a rift between us.

For those of you that think, you, with your fancy road machines are better and "above" the MTB'ers, and for those MTB'ers with the fancy offroading beauties, who think roadies suck.

Hell get over it and remember we're all of the same opinion that weekends are for riding and that a little nod or howsit costs nothing. ;) Oh , but remember not to throw down your gue packets, that sucks road and trail.
