Cradle / Cyclelab Route - Thumb tacks

Please be careful in the Cradle route before the Rhino/Lion Park. We went through there this morning at around 4h30 and we had 2 punctures in the group due to black thumb tacks on the road.

Not just one or two, we removed about 50 of them!!!

The Berge & Dale Race is going past there on Saturday so is the Tour of South Africa!!!

Whoever put the there should be jailed or worse.

That is not good at all!

Please report it to Muldersdrift SAPS. If we all do then hopefully they can do something about it.

This happened before, and most likely will happen again, unless the culprit is caught and made an example of. (not likely to happen, though)

Should have taken pictures of tacks on road, and in wheels. Cyclists who got punctured should go to Muldersdrift SAP and lay criminal charge of Malicious Injury to Property. Take damaged/punctured tubes and photo's with. The more cyclist's that do this, the better, as it will force the cops to investigate as they cannot afford open dockets to lie around unsolved.

Even letting the air out of someones tires can be construed as MI2P.

There were tacks there on Saturday. We got it twice and saw some triathletes and others picking up punctures, it was in the circle just after the Lion Park.We went thru there a about 6h40.

It must be a fresh batch because me aswell as 2 tons of CL and tri-athletes went through there on Saturday and there was nothing.

Not true, I'm afraid. One of the guys in our group suffered the drawing pin treatment as we turned off the Avianto Road under the N14 on Saturday morning. A really nice fellow cyclist stopped his car to offer us the use of his foot pump and mentioned that his group had suffered a similar fate.

What kind of a knob wastes his time driving around the Cradle dropping drawing pins?? Surely he/ they have better ways to spend their time? Pathetic.

The kind that will spend hours driving around doing it because he cannot wait a few minutes driving (and being held up) behind dumbass cyclists who ride two and three abreast and hold up the traffic on a Saturday and Sunday morning. The kind of cyclist shwo think they own the road.

And then get into trouble with dumbass motorists who think they own the road.

Yes, this has been going on for ages. Why we can't resolve this is anyones guess. Perhaps there are too many with the incorrect attitude.
